Vahbbiz helped me to become a man from a boy : Vivian Dsena

Hot and handsome Vivian Dsena has carved a niche for himself by playing Abhay, a bloodthirsty vampire in 'Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani'. Nation’s heart throb is ready to take it up a notch by playing superstar RK in Nautanki films ‘Madhubala..Ek Ishq Ek Junoon' (Colors’).

When asked how does it feel to experience this transformation. “Well it’s a herculean task for me. In TV industry actors are usually type casted, fortunately I got an opportunity to break out of my image of a vampire. Madhubala is unique and special, the first-of-its-kind on small screen. I am pretty lucky to be able to work in two shows from different genres.

Talking about the role, Vivian in a conversation with Scrutiny, “RK who is a superstar, just entered in the show. He is a very impulsive person and no one knows how he will react to a situation. You can’t slot him a category - positive or negative. The character has a lot of shades, lot of variation attached to his personality. Everybody is curious to know the mystery behind RK, which makes the character more appealing.

How easy or tough was it to get into the skin of the character of RK?  “It was really difficult. RK is a superstar and whenever you think of a superstar, the first thing that crosses their mind is a well-toned body. So I have toned my body a little. I've lost more than 11 kilos of weight in a few months as I had put on a weight during ‘Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani’. I am basically a bad eater so it was difficult for me.

I am a little bit nervous. I think it's wise to be a bit nervous because confidence can easily turn into overconfidence,” Vivian said.

Did you do any workshop to get into the skin of character? “There were a lot of workshops. We had several meetings with the director and the creative team behind the show. I worked very hard for Madhubala and I did a thorough research on how superstars live their lives. The biggest source of inspiration is Salman Khan. I admire him, his style is unique. I am trying to adapt to his mannerism to make RK’s character look best.

The actor is in a happier space both personally and professionally. “Indeed, it's one of the best phases of my life. All the hard work that I have put in the last few years is finally paying off. I thank God everyday for everything that he has given me. Vahbbiz is my lucky charm and since the time she has entered my life, there have been a lot of changes and for the better. She made me elegant, polished me and helped me become a man from a boy.

The actor celebrates his birthday today (28 June 2012), when asked about Birthday plans he said, “I am going for a shopping with Vahbbiz. I am going to indulge on whatever I feel like. Later in the evening, I will probably go out for a dinner with a few friends.

Vivian got lot of stuffs including perfumes, cards, chocolates etc from his fiancee Vahbbiz.

Wish you a very happy birthday… Vivian!!

Karan Johar over-shoots ‘SOTY’, feels he’s making a sequel

Mumbai, June 28 (IANS) Filmmaker Karan Johar says he has shot a lot of extra footage for his directorial venture “Student Of The Year” - so much so that he feels like he is simultaneously making a sequel to the movie.

We have some days of shooting still left. I think I am making a sequel along with the film. I think its a never-ending saga… though its a fun-frolic, happy film. But I may have overshot it a tad,” Johar told IANS.

The film serves as a launch pad for three newcomers in tinsel town - model Siddharth Malhotra, Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia and David Dhawan’s son Varun.

In the past week, Johar has been busy shooting the publicity campaign for the comedy and deciding upon its posters. But he loves the vibes he gets on the set with the young blood.

“I feel I am in a new phase of production which is great for Dharma Productions. We are doing great collaborations and I am directing fantastic newcomers in the film. So I am charged about it.

“I feel I’m blessed. I’m in a profession that lets me sing, dance, laugh and cry and still be at work. I don’t think I could be more fortunate than this,” he added.

Meanwhile, he is also busy judging dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5″ - his first venture on TV post his hit, glossy, celebrity chat show “Koffee With Karan”.

How does he manage the time. “I’m in the middle of too many things. ‘Jhalak…’ shoot happens one day a week. And fortunately I am doing a film with newcomers, so I can shuttle their dates around. So I can do ‘Jhalak…’, because I have the leverage to do that. It’s great fun,” said the 40-year-old.

The film is being co-produced by Karan and Shahrukh Khan.

Neha, Sarah make 'Kya Super...' look fresh: Riteish

Balaji Motion Pictures' adult-comedy "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum" stars Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias as the female leads and Riteish Deshmukh says that the girls make the sequel look fresh.

"It doesn't feel like we are working with newcomers. Their energy, enthusiasm, freshness has made our film look fresh with a new energy," said the 33-year-old said in an interview.

"They are far more confident. When I did my second film, I was not as confident as them. I wish I was as confident as these two are," he added.

While former Miss India Sarah debuted with "Game" in 2011, Neha was first seen opposite Emran Hashmi in "Crook: It's Good to be bad."

Another male lead of the film, Tusshar Kapoor, believes, "We have got the right girls for the right roles. I think Neha is very much like Simran and Sarah is very much like Anu."

Directed by Sachin Yardi, "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum" is a sequel to the 2005-film "Kya Kool Hain Hum" and hits theatres July 27.

I have a lot to learn: Abhishek Bachchan

Reviewing his last 12 years' work, Abhishek Bachchan feels people have been over-generous and have given him much more credit than he deserves.

"I think people think I am a much better actor than I actually am. I think I have a lot more to do and improve. I think people are too kind to me," Abhishek told IANS.

"I am very harsh on myself. An actor is always his worst critic. I feel I have been given too much due and I am not shamming by saying this. I genuinely believe that, I feel I have a lot more to do and learn," he added.

Junior B made his debut with J.P. Dutta's "Refugee" in 2000 - which got an iffy reception. Since then, he has seen ups and downs in his career with hits like "Bunty Aur Babli" and "Sarkar" and flops like "Kuch Naa Kaho", "Bas Itna Sa Khwaab hai" and "Players".

Abhishek goes by only one parameter while selecting his roles.

"Be it the biggest director or be it a very good script, but if my heart is not with it, I will not do it," he added.

The actor, who turned 36 this year, is right now looking forward to the release of "Bol Bachchan", which is coming out July 6.

Describing his experience, he says matching up to the required "energy level" and "style" of comedy in "Bol Bachchan" has been an "exhausting" task for him.

"Everything was a challenge. I thought it will be an easy film to do but it turned out to be the most difficult film of my career. I have done some difficult films in the past as well. But this film was exhausting to do. My misconception was that it is a comedy film, so it will be a holiday, but it wasn't one. I worked very hard for it," he said.

Loosely based on 1979 film "Golmaal", the cast of "Bol Bachchan" also features Ajay Devgn, Asin Thottumkal and Prachi Desai.

This was not Abhishek's first comedy. He tickled the audience's funny bones with "Dostana", but says that his "style of comedy is different" from what the film required.

"And that is what they (Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty) taught me. They taught me the kind of comedy that was required for the film," he added.

"In terms of energy levels, it was very tough. It took about a week for me to adjust in the new style of comedy. The first week of filming was tough. I came on the sets to do my part in a particular way. Rohit had a different idea and it took a week for me to achieve that. But full credit to Rohit, he did not give me up on me and after the pack-up, he used to tutor me. I hope I have got it right," said the actor.

The most important thing for an actor is to achieve a comfort zone with his co-stars and director, says Abhishek who also worked with Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn in "Zameen".

"According to me, an actor has to have implicit faith and trust in his director. As an actor, he pairs his soul with the director. I knew Rohit since the time he was an assistant director and I was a production assistant. Ajay is like an elder brother to me; so there is a huge amount of faith for him. I think that is what clicked. He is the most supportive co-star I have ever worked with," he said.

Net and mobile media ‘kills’ Amitabh Bachchan!

‘Killing’ ageing superstars before their time comes, seems to be one of the in-things the internet and social media have come to specialize in! After fake rumours about Lata Mangeshkar and Rajesh Khanna’s demise this year, now the internet has gone ahead and ‘killed’ megastar Amitabh Bachchan this week.

One of the blogspot blog.in reported Big B’s demise in a “car accident” on its home page a few hours ago; causing panic among Twitterati and Blackberry Messenger (BBM) users who broadcast and discussed it, till they realized it was a false alarm.

According to the said blog, “(Local Team News 9) Amitabh Bachan died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident - June 26, 2012.” (sic)

Also carrying photograph of a car turned over, the article added that “The Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Amitabh Bachan lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.” (sic)

Memorial services for Amitabh Bachan have not yet been announced. The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral due to the severe head trauma,” (sic) it concluded after a further description of the so-called ‘accident’.

Commenting on such misleading reports, Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar smirked, “The bol bachchan (talking big) attitude of the internet and social media often borders on irony when it keeps ‘killing’ superstars.

Social media is a very influential and powerful platform, and everyone should be wary of what they broadcast without verifying. When the rumour broke out, Mr Bachchan was happily tweeting almost every 15 minutes. It just takes a little bit of patience and research to check facts, but sadly, not many do that before they jump to conclusions and discussions on the net,” he analyzed.
