Porus' Cleopatra turned anchor..

Priyanka Chand, who was last seen as Cleopatra in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 'Porus' is currently hosting a TV show based on Indian Government's 'Namami Gange' project. The actress is feeling privileged, since she is not only getting the chance to interact with some of the brilliant students from all over the country, but also raising the awareness to save the holy river.

The actress with multifaceted persona started her career as an RJ and later did a couple of commercials and TV shows like Sab Golmaal Hai, Manmarziyan etc. Talking about the show she quipped, "Our show 'Meri Ganga Quiz' is a 16 episode series, which is recently launched by Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Col Rajyavardhan Rathore. It is based on the Prime Minister’s National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) 'Namami Gange' campaign.  The show's main motto is to create awareness and familiarize the youth about the rich heritage of Mother Ganga and safeguarding the measures to prevent her from the dangers of present day pollution."

Sharing her shooting experience, the pretty actress said, "Nature fuels my soul. I am passionate about ecological conservation. Since mother Ganga originates from my native place Uttarakhand, hence she holds a special place in my heart, and it is my pure privilege to be able to be a conduit to awaken the youth and masses via this show, about our deep undying historical, cultural and emotional connection with the holy river to rejuvenate, regenerate and save her by restoring her bygone glory and save our generations henceforth.  I had a thrilling time with all the bright students. Many had an artistic flair and sang songs, wrote poetries, played musical instruments, whose talents I made sure to showcase in the show."

Chand appreciated Narendra Modi government's programme to clean an unholy mess and is honored to associate with the cause. "Its a much needed thoughtful move by the Indian government and I’m hopeful that people will do their bit now to make it a success. As for me, this show is my homage to Ganga," said the actress.
