The producers of Sasural Genda Phool (SGP) have announced that the show would return for a new season, and shooting has already begun. While most of the original cast members have been kept, Ragini Khanna, who played Suhana in the show, will not be reprising her role as the heroine opposite Jay Soni in the second installment. The makers have roped in Shagun Sharma as her replacement.
However, we can now reveal that Ragini will be doing a cameo in the show. Infact she has already started shooting. We heard, will make a special appearance on SGP 2 and will reprise the character of Suhana.
"Suhana will be shown dead, but Ishaan (Jay Soni) continues to pine for her,” a source close to the show said.
Our source further added, "Ragini will be seen in a cameo and will make an appearance in four-five scenes. She'll appear in flashbacks as Ishaan recalls her. She will assist and advise him as he moves on in life."
"The makers intended to rope in a new face to play the heroine in the second edition. They believed Suhana's character had been fully developed in the first season and that she had nothing else to offer. The story of the previous season revolved around Suhana and we wanted to focus on the family this time. The decision to move the show forward without Ragini was a creative one," our insider said of Ragini's replacement.
