Is suicide is a cowardly act?

 

'Suicide is a cowardly act, and the majority of those who do it go to hell.' 

Someone, I know shamelessly shared this on whatsapp status after a charismatic hip-hop dancer Stephen tWitch Boss committed suicide.

How can we assume that those who commit suicide are cowards? 

The person in whom its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself/himself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise.

People who leap from burning windows are not cowards. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view. 

But meri jaan, when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors.

If you feel the terror of the flame, you will understand the jump. 

If you think committing suicide is a cowardly act, then you’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.
