The film, '1869' is the brainchild of multi award winning film maker Pranav Harihar Sharma, who developed the script along with his team for months before they went on floors. Extensive research was carried out to make sure that everything, ranging from the props, costumes and colour palette were authentic for the period the film represents.

Speaking about the film, he says, “I have high hopes from 1869. The film is the result of the hard work of me and my core team over a period of 6 months that went into the research. It's the best script I have written so far in my 16-year writing career and the most difficult film I have directed in my directorial span. Executing a period film anyway comes with its challenges and on the top of that we had some really difficult roles for our main cast, in which, three are kids not more than 6 years of age. We conducted a few workshops to get the cast in character and I'm happy to say that the result is nothing less than exceptional. 1869 happened because of Inorbit Baccha Bollywood and Gang Motion Pictures who produced the film together. I'm glad that my producers trusted me and my vision and helped me execute it the way I wanted it. Now we are looking forward to garner international recognition for the film.

Produced jointly by Gang Motion Pictures & Inorbit, '1869' is a visual treat. Shot by ace cinematographer, Vishal Sinha, the story is set in a Victorian hospital in a small town in India during the British Raj. The story revolves around an event witnessed by three young children and the quest that follows... An unexpected turn then culminates into a shocking yet, fulfilling end.

Credits for the film's souls stirring sound goes to the combined talents of renowned music composer Hanif Shaikh and his team, along with National Award winning sound designer Baylon Fonseca.

After the successful screening in Mumbai. '1869' is now preparing for its journey in the festival circuit as well as an international premier.
