Nandish Sandhu & Rashami Desai, crispy toast of tinsel town..!

Nandish Sandhu and Rashami Desai are the main protagonists of Colors prominent show Uttaran, became the crispy toast of tinsel town.  They spent long hours together on the sets, and shared common likes and dislikes. They became good friends and started dating a year ago. Nandish proposed to his lady love on his birthday in an extravagance way which falls on Christmas Eve.  He hired a yatch, took Rashmi by surprise and in the middle of the sea he proposed her in front of their friends. Then few months later they had a marriage of blissful vows.

Nandish is from Rajasthan and did hotel management from Dehli, and then he shifted to Mumbai.  He used to spend hours observing himself in the mirror and always wanted to pursue a career in acting and dream about Lights-Camera-Action. “I worked with The Taj Hotel and then with a call center for a short period of time.  I distributed my pictures to some coordinators, after that I started receiving calls for modeling.  After seeing my snaps Balaji Telefilms called me for an audition for serial Kasturi. After the selection they called for the look test and here I thought that acting was my destiny”.

Rashami is a true Mumbaite, she was not good in academics but did a diploma in Travel & Tourism.  Acting was not a forte but she did many Bhojpuri films and finally made her debut on small screen in Pari Hoon Main for Star One. “My passion is dancing as I always wanted to be a choreographer. My second career option was to be an air-hostess but my mother’s desire was to see me as an actor. She always says that “God is going to grow you by giving you opportunities; you should try and become an actor”. I was initially not very interested in acting but then I gradually started loving it.”

As Rashami is passionate about her dancing, she learnt classical dance. After watching Rashami her guru insisted her to try her hand in Bhojpuri films. The schedules were not hectic in Bhojpuri Films so she decided to venture into acting along with her studies.

Here is some news for her fans who don’t know that Rashami’s original name was Shivani Desai, but she changed it after consulting her astrologer. “Shivani is the name which my father gave, but my mother was keen on having her daughter named Divya. I started my career in Bhojpuri films with the name as Divya Desai. My mother is a great believer in Astrology. One well known astrologer told that Divya is not good for my Television career, so I changed my name to Rashami.”

Unlike Rashami, Nandish does not believe in Astrology and has a quite different view, “I don’t believe in Astrology or numerology but my family believes in it.  Especially my mother and grandmother are very faithful and adherent sincere to Astrology.  My mother insists upon doing certain things on particular days, and I'd never say no to her. But personally I do not think God will fulfill our wishes when we follow specific rituals on specific days and time. I do believe in spirituality, but I'm not superstitious.

As a matter of fact Sandhu family and Rashami believe in astrology, but there kundlis were not matched before their marriage. “I think there is no need of matching the kundalis, as it does not guarantee for a happy married life.  I think if understanding is present in a relationship then there is no need of kundali milaan but yes, we will do it because my family and Rashami want to do that.

For Uttaran, Rashami did a lot of research before getting into the skin of Tapasya’s character. “Tapasya is a psychotic girl who can go to any extent to accomplish what she desires.  My sister is a psychiatrist she helped me to learn the psychology of Tapasya. It’s very difficult for me because I am exactly opposite of Tapasya.  Once a girl came to me and said Tapasya is like her, she forced her husband to marry her.  After that I realized the kind of jealousy I am portraying in Uttaran do really exist in real life.”

Nandish and Rashami met on the sets of Uttaran and gradually fell for each other. “I never thought that one day Rashami would be my wife. When we started working together, we used to talk professionally. Then we started hanging out as friends, we dined out together, did shopping and started spending a lot of time with each other. Then I realized that she is pretty cool girl to be with but it was definitely not love at first sight,” Nandish quips.

Rashami said, “I was quite disturbed and angry because someone sent me despicable messages. I was complaining about it to my father on phone. That was the first time I met Nandish.  Our first interaction was not that good and like Nandish said even I never thought that he will become my life”.
Nandish and Rashami became good friends after their onscreen marriage. They started dating each other and then secretly tied the knot in Gaziabad. Nandish’s family stays in Dholpur and most of his relatives are staying close to Gaziabad. They will get married in traditional way probably by the end of this year or early next year.

Nandish had a picture frame of his dream girl like Priyanka Chopra. When asked Nandish whether Rashami has the ideal qualities of his dream girl or not, he said “She is much better than what I expected. She understands all my problems and is very caring. As a daily soap actor she works day and night but still after such hectic schedules she pays full attention to our families.

Rashami is quite practical and doesn’t believe that her guy should be Prince Charming. "I never thought of love marriage and dreamt of qualities that my Prince Charming should definitely possess but yes I always wanted my life partner to be just like me. God blessed me with Nandish.  He is a gem of a person. He is very grounded, cultured and patient."

Like every television actor, Nandish also wants to try his luck in Bollywood. He said “Yes why not? But it’s very difficult to get a film until and unless you are very lucky or have a God father in the industry”.  But when Rashami is concerned, she is happy with the television scenario. She says “I do not plan things but if an opportunity comes, then I will surely say yes to Bollywood.  Television is mostly ruled by women and Bollywood is all about men.  If I do get a good break then I’ll try my best.”

They fight like school going kids and play pranks on each other.  Recently Rashami was unwell and her naughty hubby played a prank on her. Nandish gave her coconut shell filled with salted water which she immediately and happily took and started sipping the water. As she took few sips she realized that he played a prank on her, and with this they started fighting again. We left them to their cuddliness and love for each other.

Preggy Aishwarya dropped from Heroine

As expected Madhur Bhandarkar is not happy with Aish pregnancy, latest rumor is that the preggy Mrs.Bachchan has been dropped from Madhur’s directorial venture Heroine.

It is believed in Bollywood that when an actress gets pregnant her career starts dropping,  Aishwarya kick out from Bhandarkar’s film is the start of actress fumbling career.

In our corrupt country India, there is a law which protects women from any such kind of bigotry in the corporate world.  This law is also applicable in Aish case, because she sacked from Heroine due to due to the pregnancy bump. I don’t think actress will take any action against the production house and Madhur.

In beauty contest, films and reality shows it is specified in contracts that actress/model can be terminated that if she gets pregnant during the assignment. Also the contract has a clause that actress/model has to be paid the amount till she has been terminated from the project. But Aish and the production house does not signed such contarct for Heroine.

As per the sources, “Madhur met the Aish after Amitabh Bachchan broadcast the shocking news on his micro networking site. Madhur informed her that she was no longer required to shoot for the film.  Actress is clueless about whether the Heroine has been put on hold permanently or she's been dropped from the film.”

"Relationship means you're exclusive to one person" : Kinshuk Mahajan

TV tube’s dashing chocolate boy Kinshuk Mahajan did Dhoom Machao Dhoom, Bidaai and Chand Chupa Badal Mein.  He gained popularity after his successful stint in Bidaai where he played Ranvir Rajvansh.

The actor who is very shy by nature answered our audacious and despicable questions. He is a bit introverted and innocent like his characters in Bidaai and Chand Chupa Badal Mein. In an atypical interview, he uncovered his views out to us and discuss on love, sex and dhoka in relationships.

Tell us about your first attraction.
It was Divya, when I was in class 11th. I was certainly attracted to her, but I never thought we may go further than friendship. It was not an infatuation, because if it was it would have been vanished with time.

So do you think infatuation is not long lasting?
Yes according to me, if you are infatuated with someone, very soon you would get bored and will start looking for a change. The feeling of enthrallment cannot last for long if it’s not love.

What is the Difference between Infatuation and Love?
Infatuation is passionate, seductive, all consuming. You feel like you cannot go on without this person. The physical attraction is fanatical and feels like one set of glands screaming out to another. Love, on the other hand, is a calmer, more mature feeling. It is a sense of stability and has a much deeper emotion.

What was your first date like?
I was on the cycle and she walked along the road with me. Then we went for a cup of coffee, that’s it.

That’s it? How far would you go on a first date?
Yes that’s it (smiles) When we were dating we used to go out to enjoy a cup of coffee. I liked the moments when we were gazing at each other eyes while talking.  About how far I will go on my first date, hmm till the new Bandra Worli sea-link and may go for a long drive to Lokhandwala. On a serious note, on your first date you must know about the person across the table.

What is the meaning of being in a Relationship?
For me a relationship means you're exclusive to one person, giving your heart and soul to your mate.

What would you wear on a hot date?
I would wear the clothes comfortable in and can freely roam around with her. I would like to wear T-Shirt and half pant.

Would you call yourself a flirt?
No, but yes I do flirt with my partner. Healthy flirting makes both of the people feel good. I firmly believe that harmless flirting is a great stress buster. I do not like to flirt with other girls; some men can find beauty in other women, they are just like a kid who's not supposed to eat candy before supper. But I think I am not supposed to do it because I am in committed relationship.

Have you ever been attracted to someone of the same sex?
No ways.

Has a boy ever hit on you?
Not really, thank God, I think never had such an experience.

What you will you do if a guy hit on you?
I will tell him, Dude Listen, you are dialing a wrong number I am a very much straight. Stay away from me.

What are your takes on same sex relationships?
It’s legal in our nation and is taboo in our society; I am no one to comment on it. It's an individual’s choice to select his/her sexual orientation.

Do you believe in one-night stands?
I believe there's nothing wrong or right with one-night stands.  But our culture won't allow us to have one-night stands its unacceptable in our society.

What turns you on in women?
It has to be sweetness in nature and her voice. She should be caring, polite, soft-spoken and graceful and posses’ positive aura.

Your take on Pre-marital sex?
Premarital sex is a choice that you make and its ok if you are comfortable.  Personally I would not have sex before marriage, because if I love someone - why can’t I wait for a marriage?

What are your views on Live in relationships?
Live-in Relationships means living with a person without getting married, it may help us to see if he/she is the one whom you are looking for.  For me marriage is not a boundation to love a person. But I would prefer and recommend marriage to a live-in relationship.

Do you think men love bitches?
Ask them who love bitches (laughs). I think men like to flirt with bitchy women and not interested in getting married to them.  You cannot spend your entire life with a bitch.

Do you think casting couch exists in industry?
Most of the industry people say that there is no such thing like casting couch but I will not wholly refuse that the casting couch exists in industry.  There are few bad people, who force you to do such things, you should be careful. I am lucky I haven't experienced it yet.

What would you do if your partner strays?
I am not worried because I know she will not cheat.

Do you think Television actors are compulsive liars?

A couple of days ago an article was published in a well known news paper that TV celebrities are habitual liars. They lie with a straight face.

I agree they do lie, they lie about their age, relationship status, they lie that they share cold vibes with their co-stars; they lie about their body enhancements, about their sexual orientation, about casting couch, about their struggle etc.

Well there is no one in the whole universe that could say, in all honesty and haven't lied on several occasions. Each and everybody lies including me and those who are reading this article.  It may only be WHITE lies, but everyone tells lies or OMITS THE TRUTH sometimes.

We lie when we are afraid of what would happen if we told the truth.  We start lying at around age of around 4 or 5, this first lying is not malevolent. But eventually children begin to use lying to get out of mess or get something they want.

Those lies by which we pretend to protect someone’s feelings are not a big deal at all and are known as WHITE LIES.   People who seem to feel compelled to lie about both the small and large stuff are pathological liars. They lie to protect themselves, look good, gain economically or publicly and avoid chastisement.

I called few actors and asked then “Do you think Television actors are compulsive liars?” Some of the actors refused to comment on it, may be because they fall in category of pathological liars. Here are the views of few actors:

ANGAD HASIJA
Before entering in glamour world do actors take oath that they will never lie? No, then why they supposed to tell each and every personal thing in public. We are also a normal human being and don’t want anyone to access to our personal space. Life is not Sach Ka Saamna, we have to lie in some situations and we have full rights for it.

SARA KHAN
Tell me the name of one person who does not lie. In my opinion, we all have to lie on certain unavoidable occasions. Those who claim that all TV actors are compulsive liars are themselves a big liar. I am an actor and I am here for work, no one has rights to peep in my personal life. When I don’t want to share something in public, people say I am a liar.

SMITA SINGH
90% do it, but I fall in remaining 10%. I am not afraid of anybody. I don’t lie because I've got nothing to hide.  One of the actress said she is virgin, and she has two kids, bachche kya Big Bazaar ki sell me mile. All the girls are virgin in the industry, bullshit. Why people say casting couch does not exist in this industry. The film industry is full of liars and fakes; I am astonished why they hide the truth.

ANUPRIYA KAPOOR
I don’t think so, no one is compulsive liar. But yes sometimes we have to hide something and it’s our right. It’s completely up to us what we want to make public and what not. If I hide my age then it will not cause any harm to anybody, but I point is that why would I tell how old I am? Even then Bollywood and Hollywood actors lie about their age, relationships and casting couch. Every human being has to lie in certain situations.

ADITI GUPTA
Yes some of the actors do lie, but it’s something personal to them. Whenever someone asks me some personal questions and I don’t want to share it I simple say NO COMMENTS.  Why to lie if we have the right to refuse to answer questions.

SHIKHA SWAROOP
It’s a very strong statement, actors’ chamouflage the truth with diplomacy. It’s required in the glamour industry. For me a lie is not a lie if it does not harm anyone.

ZEB KHAN
I think there should be some privacy, why would an actor make his personal life public. Every human being is a liar, we all lie in certain occasions so what’s the big deal when an actor hide his age or relationship status.

SHASHANK VYAS
I completely disagree with the statement that ‘TV actors are compulsive liars’, every normal human being lie. Normal girl also hide their age, people do lie when they go for an interview they say they have offer from other companies. Just because TV actor’s life is more public there lies are highlighted. Judge actors by their work not by their personal life or lies. Kaam bolta hai boss.
