I don’t like rona dhona type daily soaps: Rati Pandey

What made Hitler didi aka Indira Sharma turn into the tyrant that she is? An overdose of saas-bahu melodrama is to blame here! After featuring in daily soaps such as Miley Jab Hum Tum, Raat Hone Ko Hai and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, Hitler didi alias Rati Pandey has sworn to never walk the lane again

Rati Pandey has had enough of rona dhona in reel life to last a lifetime. Now she is happy playing a strict and stubborn Indira in Zee TV’s popular show Hitler Didi.

But what pushed her to make this choice? “After having done saas-bahu drama once in my career, now I would like to explore other types of roles. As long as the show has a different concept, I am open to doing it. I don’t like saas-bahu, dushmani, rona dhona type serials. I think they’ve had their moment under the sun, they’re outdated now.”

Rati feels that there are many sides to a woman, and such shows limit it to just two aspects. “These shows project only two done-to-death stereotypical images of a woman. They’re either the evil, ever-scheming, ever-plotting breed or they fall in the category of the demure damsels perennially in distress. There are so many other aspects to a woman’s character. I like shows that feature women as well-rounded individuals with depth in the character, rather than painting them as limp, uni-dimensional caricatures. Indira is an independent girl who takes the responsibility of her family, single-handedly. She has had to face some difficult circumstances, there are also several lighter aspects to her life that are brought out on the show.”

The actor will play negative character if the script is challenging enough. “If I am offered a role which is not only noticeable but also challenging to the core in a serial, I am game to do even a negative role. However, let me reiterate that I do not want to be yet another vamp in yet another saas-bahu serial. I do not wish to play the vamp in any saas-bahu show for the simple reason that the actor playing these roles are required to not only wear loud makeup which I find obnoxious, but are also expected to ham ridiculously, resorting to all kinds of exaggerated mannerisms and facial contortions.”

But the actor shows a keen interest in reality shows, “I would love to do a reality show someday, but the show should be music-related. I can’t live without music. Music is like relaxation therapy for me. Right now it’s just a hobby and I am not yet talking about getting into it as a professional. But I would like to go down that path someday. How good am I as a singer, only time will tell. In fact, I was about to come up with an album of peppy numbers with Piyush Soni, but the project was inordinately delayed. In any case, I prefer to go slow and steady instead of zooming to the top and then crashing down with a thud shortly afterwards.”

Preetika Chawla's Interview

‘Mumbai Calling’ fame Preetika Chawla is making her Bollywood debut  with Makrand Deshpande’s ‘Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu’. She is playing a florist role whose life changes after Shahrukh Khan tells her that she is beautiful. Here is excerpts from her interview in which bubbly girl Preetika talks about her journey so far.

Tell us bit about your background?

After schooling at Welham Girls School, Dehradun, I decided not to go to college and enrolled instead in a BA honors’ correspondence course at Delhi University. I worked for a magazine when I was in first year of my college. In the second year, I joined Blue Mango Films, a production house. Then I came to Mumbai to visit my sister, who was involved in the production of ‘Me, Grandad and an Elephant’ at Prithvi Theater. Once one of the actors didn’t turn up and I stepped in for the performance. Makarand noticed me and offered a lead role in his movie.

Share your experience while working with Makrand Deshpande and Afzaal Khan.
It was very enriching experience. Mac (Makarand Deshpande) is a easy going director and I never felt any pressure working with him. He is a balanced director. Afzaal is a fabulous actor. I learned a lot from him. Whole cast and crew of ‘Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu’ is very helpful and is like a family to me.

What kind of girl Laali is?
Laali is an innocent girl who sells flower on road to earn money. She is a die-fan of Shahrukh. Laali’s life changes when one fine day a car stops and someone from inside the car tells her ‘Khubsurat Hai Tu’.

Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu…what did you say to him?

Laali gets surprised to see her Idol, she faints after Shahrukh says khoobsurat hai tu and hence she doesn’t get an opportunity to say anything to Shahrukh(smiles).

In Bollywood it is said that only Shahrukh or Sex sells. Is that the reason your film has Shahrukh name?

What do you like to do besides acting?
I love watching television, play scrabble on internet. I spend at least 6 hours per day in rehearsals. I like to cook. I am bad in networking but whenever I get time I check Facebook.

Tell us a few things that you hate about television industry and why?
I am a new bee in this industry, it’s too early to comment on this. I’ve met wonderful people so far, touch wood.

The worst advice anyone has ever given you?
I never have had any bad advice. Thank god everyone in my life is so helpful.

Where do you see yourself after the release of Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu?
Hoping to get many offers. Direction too is around the corner. I’ve left everything on fate.

Hina Khan's Interview

Hina Khan aka Akshara of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has a huge fan following. She is an extremely convinced, positive, intelligent girl. She certainly knows how to carry herself with a lot of dignity. It is very rare to find such a blend of beauty and brains and fortunately Hina is one of them. I spoke to Hina about her journey so far.

Tell us something about your journey from Srinagar to Mumbai?

Hmm I am not at all from a film family and frankly speaking I do not even have an acting background though I had always dreamt of taking up acting as a career. Right from the time when I was a tiny tot, I was very eager about acting. I should say that I am fortunate enough to have been singled out by producer Rajan Shahi to play the lead role in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.

How do you relate yourself with Akshara?
Hina is very shy, reserved and a very emotional kind of a person who does not like to share much about her personal life with others. I am totaly opposite to Akshara as she always depends upon others to make her personal decisions.

There are few similarities which make us similar and that are, I am shy, emotional, caring like Akshara. However, when it comes to Hina she does not bother about others but she respects her father's decision.

Would you like your show ‘Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai’ to last for a decade?
Yes I would love it(smiles).

What is your opinion on Rajan Shahi’s Statement ‘Retiring gracefully is an art’?
Ya...It’s great that you leave your great impact on people's heart before you retire. A very few people can do this. I think it’s true. ‘Jung jito ya haaro...Paar baas koshish ye ho ki agar aap haaro to shaan se aur agar jeeto to shaan se, as a victory king'. It is an art, if you know you can't survive with the changing trend in the market then its better to back off and save the reputation you have built up over the years;)

If given an opportunity would you do a Swayamwar like Rakhi and Rahul?
No never... Marriage is a beautiful and sacred institution. I will never insult it like these freaks did just for the sake of getting publicity. I don’t want to criticize Rakhi or Rahul for Swayamwar it’s their personal decision.


What are your expectations from yourself and industry?
That I strive hard and entertaining my fans till the end of my life. I expect that the industry will always remember my work!

Any plans to enter in Bollywood?
Well not now, but i have plans to enter Bollywood soon. For that I am working on my physique, learning dancing, polishing my acting skills and doing many more things.

Are you seeing someone?
Hmm...not really (smiles)

Any message to your fans?
I want to thank all my fans for their love and appreciation. I will try my best to live in their hearts forever. Thanks a lot for all their wishes and love they have given me. Keep supporting me :)

Afzaal Khan's Interview!!..

Afzaal Khan is making his Bollywood debut with “Shah Rukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu” which is directed by Makrand Deshpande. The film has a relatively different story.  Here is excerpts from his interview in which he talks about about his journey so far.

Tell us something about your journey from Lucknow to Mumbai?

As usual it was to come to the city of dreams and watch them come true. Life is a journey, a path on itself. The city Mumbai did teach me a lot how to survive how to bounce back and finally how to keep the patience to win. I'm still travelling and experiencing change every moment. From Lucknow to Mumbai has evolved me as a person. My heart is in my hometown Lucknow but my dreams lie in Mumbai .

Share your experience while working with Makrand Deshpande?
When one takes his name the first word that comes to my mind is "GENIUS ". It’s a honor to know him as a person. He is a very comfortable director to work with who teaches you so much in every scene that he directs you . Mac (Makrand Deshpande) is crazy , lovable, fun and is so passionate about his work and that is what keeps him going. I love you Mac .


What kind of character you are playing in Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu?
"Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu" is a story of Lali and the compliment she receives from her super star. In the film you hear the story from me, a character of a journalist who wants to know the truth behind the compliment who also wishes to ask the super star (Shahrukh Khan ) if the star is even aware of the fact that just a statement , a word or a compliment can change an entire life of an individual .

In Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu, Shahrukh said to Preetika Chawla(lead actress) ‘Khubsurat hai tu’. What did he say to you?
He (Shahrukh Khan ) did want to compliment me saying "Khoobsurat Hai Tu” (smiles), but just thought he should make the little girl (Lali) happier this time (laughs)

Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu is releasing with Guzaarish, that means there will be again a clash between SRK and Bhansali? What do you want to say?
Both the films are of complete different genre. I love watching Bhansali ji’s films but this time I cast all my votes to "Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu " and wishing it well. Also how can we ignore the fact that he (Shahrukh Khan) is the Badshah of Bollywood.

In Bollywood it is said that only Shahrukh or Sex sells. Is that the reason your film has Shahrukh name?
I do agree with the statement nothing compares to Mr. Shahrukh Khan." Naam hi kaafi hai". At the same time the story of the film completely justifies the title .Watch it (smiles)


You have worked in several serials, theater and now a movie. Which one is better?
As an Actor good work is what gives me a kick .I am here to work in different challenging characters. On television I have portrayed different kind of roles which helped me to groom myself as an Actor .Television has grown so much in recent times . Films have its own charm. It’s a film that makes a star. I have enjoyed both television and films equally and getting ready for the stage soon.

Is direction around the corner?
Well it’s too early to say anything right now but yes I would love to direct some day .

Actor, Writer or a Director. How would you like to be remembered?
Like my mentor (Makrand Deshpande) I would definitely want to be remembered as all .Right now please welcome me as an Actor and give me your love and blessings.

Bigg Boss inmates boycott Dolly Bindra !!..

Dolly Bindra famous for playing as a vamp in many TV series has been boycotted by fellow inmates in Bigg Boss home.Dolly is second wild card entrant in the Bigg Boss-4.

Dolly Bindra entry into the Bigg Boss house yesterday stimulated a lot of excitement and hush hush among the housemates as they greeted her tenderly. But on the second day itself, the same housemates have collectively decided to boycott her.

There was an argument between Shweta Tiwari and Dolly about who would be the kitchen captain. Dolly firmly believed that the women should be assigned to the kitchen while the men could be utilized for other tasks. Shweta negated this idea and pointed out that since the contestants were living like a family it was only fair that every one contributes to every task, instead of such gender split for tasks.

Then Shweta accused Dolly of being a liar, a defraud and a cheat based on the ugly past Shweta shares with Dolly. Dolly also organizes variety shows across the world. One such event was organized in Mauritius for which Dolly shortlisted Shweta Tiwari to perform a item number. Shweta quoted 7 lakhs, but then remuneration for the same was agreed to be 6 lakhs. After performance, Dolly went back on her word and had given only 75 thousand for the same. Shweta bitterly accused Dolly for having embittered her. Shweta even pointed out that in the end of the day, she wasn't paid a single penny for her performance.Also Dolly and Shweta are at logger-heads for the past couple of years because of the Raja Chaudhary incident that happened in one of the parties.


 Shweta finally broke down in front of Bigg Boss inmates and was calmed by her housemates. Dolly's impatient behavior resulted in the housemates clandestinely reaching a conclusion that they would ignore Dolly’s presence. They walk away from the room each time Dolly walks into. Also all the inmates agreed to nominate her for eviction in the very next week.

Hrishant has been elected as the new kitchen captain and would be assisted by Sara, Veena and Anchal.

Viveik Mishra and Raja Chaudhary, are supposed to enter in Bigg Boss house as wild card entrants in coming weeks.

When contacted, 'Shayaad' hero Viveik replied via a text message‘Dolly is nice person. Whereas Shweta is cheater and a liar. Don’t know why truth is always boycotted?. I don't want to comment on any wild card entries.”

Raja remained unavailable to comment.

Raja, Shradha and Viveik Mishra...three wild card entries in Bigg Boss

There are rumours that there will be three wild card entries in Bigg Boss house. Viveik Mishra and Shradha Sharma along with Raja Chaudhary would be probably locked in Bigg Boss house. The House will get Hotter, Sexier and more Controversial from now on. This Diwali more Bombs and Blasts inside the house.

I would prefer Shweta to get intimated rather than Shraddha in Bigg Boss house- Raja

Raja is my love of life. I can remain happy remembering him throughout my life- Shradha

Manoj and Shweta are two faced people I hate them like anything- Viveik

If you enter in Bigg Boss then whom would you teach a lesson and why?
Viveik : Shweta and Manoj Tiwari, because they are the most diplomatic and double faced people. Shweta and Manoj jaise log is duniya me ho to logo ka insaniyat se bharosa uth jaayega.

Shradha : I will not go there to teach a lesson to anybody because you know life is too short to make anybody understand anything. I wil only go there for my fans and people who love me.

Raja : Ofcourse Shweta and Manoj, both of them are double faced.

How important is it to have controversial background to get entry in Bigg Boss house?
Viveik : It is not important to be a controversial person however you need to be a little known person publicly.

Shradha : That I don’t know you should ask this to casting team of Bigg Boss.

Raja : Don't know. There are come contestants who do not have controverial background. So I think its not important.

Who is your favorite contestant right now in Bigg Boss and why?
Viveik : Seema Parhar, because her neeti is”Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein Maange Sub Ki Khair
Na Kahu Say Dosti Na Kahu Say Bair” (laughs)

Raja : Shweta, because I know her very well how she is. She is showing fake side of Shweta in Bigg Boss very well.
If given an opportunity to be intimate in Bigg Boss jail, who would be that person?
Viveik : Malai marke Aanchal…because I like malai (laughs)

Shradha : Apni puri zindagi me mai Raja ke siwa kisi aur ke bare me soch hi nahi sati. I am one man woman(laughs). I am ok with his thoughts when he is not with me. I am happy in remembering him.

Raja : Shweta Tiwari offcouse( laughs)
Can we see you giving massage to a guy /gal in Bigg Boss?
Viveik : I don’t know about giving massage, but I would love to get massage done in Bigg Boss house. All house mates are welcome.

Shradha: Why not massage can be head massage or a thigh massage. I am ok in giving and taking massage.

Raja : I can not give massage because I don't know how to do that. I am reay to get massaged.

What after Bigg Boss?
Viveik : My upcoming movie projects.

Shradha : Want to do a good bollywood movie. There are some movies in pipeline.

Is nudity a new name of FAME?

From modeling to acting and now yoga training and also a reality show, how did it all happened?

Modelling happened by chance. My first show was for ‘Loreal Trophy’. After that it was never looking back and generally acting is step forward from modeling.

During my modeling days I met Yogi Ashwini Ji and under his guidance I started practicing ‘Sanatan Criya’ and ‘Astang Yoga’.

In todays world it is very important to live a balanced life, my friend encouraged to start teaching yoga, so that’s how it happened. I am not into mass classes I only take training sessions for celebrities like Sushane Roshan, Sunayana Roshan and Shraddha Sharma.

So how come a bold movie ‘Shayaad’?
Everybody has a different definition of being bold. I don’t find ‘Shayaad’ bold. Yes it is little sensual and it’s a stay of today’s world and friends.

I heard you have many kissing scenes with a guy and a girl both?
Kissing is not a taboo for me. When I can pose nude for a fashion photographer, so kissing in front of camera is absolutely normal for me. I have full faith in my director Sundeep Malani, as he is super talented director. That he doesn’t make anything looks vulgar but sensual.

How comfortable you are in kissing a guy?
I had no problem in kissing a guy for a movie. An actor plays many character in his life. It doesn’t mean he is same in his real life.

How important it is to show the skin in front of camera?
See it completely depends on script and director you are working with. Sundeep Malani made me look very hot and sensul in ‘Shayaa’. And for me taking off the clothes in front of camera is not a big deal, provide you are been captured by right people.

As per my information you are entering in Bigg Boss house with Raja Chaudhary and Shraddha Sharma. What form of Viviek Mishra we will see inside?
No comment….If you have got the information then wait and watch (Laughs)

What advice do you give to your friend Sara Khan, as she is locked inside Bigg Boss house?
My advice to Sara Di(I call her Sara Di because she is my sister Dr. Khushi Prasad’s friend) that one should not make any decision instantly and Ali is a great guy. Both of them really look cute together.

Which option you choose ‘Kiss or Bitch or Shed crocodile tears’ to win Bigg Boss if you were locked inside?
I would rather prefer to Kiss and bitch & make other cry….hahaha joking. I am simple guy and I will be myself in house.

There are no permanent friends and enemies in our industry. Do you have one?

I don’t know about enemies, but I do have many good friends in industry.

What type of guy Viveik Mishra is?
I am very simple and fun loving guy. I like to watch movies and hang out with my friends.

Who do you want to give credit to your success?
I love my parents. I am here because of my parent’s blessings, my younger brother Kartikey’s criticism and two of my close people Dr. Khushi Prasad and Shalabh Khanna’s support.

Shradha ki salah Shweta ko kisi ke sar se chat na cheene...

Tell us about your background? How did you start?

I started my career with Sahara One’s show ‘Suno Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai’. Then I did ‘Saarthi’ for Star Plus. 

I did many stage shows and some movies including south Indian movie ‘Jiya’ and ‘Jai Ho’ 

As we all know Raja has a controversial history and you are also associated with Raja. What do you have to say on this?

Controversies never attract me. I believe in hard work. I want to be remembered because of my work not because of controversies.

It is said that Shweta Tiwari and Manoj Tiwari are dating, and Shweta is Raja’s ex.

I do not want to comment on Shweta and Manoj ji’s relationship.

Do you have anything to say to Shweta?

Divorce is very common these days. Its not a big deal for me that Shweta and Raja are divorced.

Being a woman Shweta should handle relations carefully. If you are in a relationship you should not hurt your partner by cheating.

Jab do log shaadi karke saath me rehte hai to chote mote jagde to hote hi rehte hai. Un jagdo ko hype karna theek baat nahi. Apne partner ko cheat karna fir achanak relation tood dena galat hai.

What kind of equation do you share with Shweta?

I respect her a lot. She is nice human being. But if I look from Raja’s point of view she is not kind hearted. Don’t know why she is not allowing Raja to meet their daughter Palak.

Raja was dying to meet her daughter on her birthday. It hurts when I see Raja crying for Palak.

Any thing else for Shweta?

Raja and Shweta jointly purchased two flats, a three BHK flat in Malad and another 1 BHK flat. She is staying in Malad’s 3BHK flat and not giving possision of 1 BHK flat to Raja.

Raja atleast deserves that smaller 1BHK flat. I just wanted to say kamse kam Raja ke sar se chat to na cheene. She should give 1BHK flat to Raja.

You did loyalty test on Raja, that was a publicity stunt or you did that for money or you actually want to test whether Raja is loyal to you or not?

At that time I was busy doing a show with Mika. I received a call from my friend she convienced me to do that. It just happened. I forgot that incident and forgave Raja and moved ahead.

Raja got 2 lakh for doing Emotiona Atyachaar?

(laughs) Kya baat kar rahe ho? Is it so?

If rumors are to be believed you are also supposed to be in Bigg Boss house. What went wrong? Is Shweta responsible for that?

I don’t know what went wrong. I hate such type of politics.
