Troubled Hina Khan planning to knock the doors of cyber crime!...

TV actress Hina Khan(a.k.a Akshara of Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame) is quite depressed these days, the reason is her fake profiles on social networking sites. Hina Khan is now planning to register a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of the crime branch, stating that multiple fake accounts in her name had been created on Facebook by unknown persons.

There so many fake profiles of celebrities on networking sites like Facebook. It has recently been discovered that over 40% of new Facebook profiles are actually fake. Facebook now became Fakebook.


The question is why are people setting up fake Facebook profiles of celebrities? There are several reasons for this :
• The fake profiles are generally set up by a combination of either spammers or various malware and virus writers.
• Those who are in shallow relationships e.g "lovers" testing and teasing each others, teasing by fake comments of fake profiles, testing each other by fake flirts or messages.
• For monitoring people lives by fake personalities.
• For forcing some business to grow by making it popular through many profiles.
• Often broken people creating humiliating fake profiles for those who hurt them.
• Psychos people e.g males creating profiles for females and vice versa.
• Some people are just sick: some stupid pointless people likes to fool around.

Fake profile of celebrities are generally created by their fans. If you are a regular Facebook user and do a search for your favorite celebrity, chances are very likely that this particular celebrity has a Facebook profile.

How To Report A Fake Profile Page On Facebook?  You can report through two ways.
1. Go to Facebook “Report a Fake Profile” page, fill the details and submit.
2. Or send an email to ‘login@facebook.com’ and explain them that a fake profile has been created in your name. Also provide your contact information so that Facebook Support team can contact you for further info.

When I contacted Hina, she said “I am worried because people take my pictures and misuse it in fake profiles. I want to say just guys get real and then play with people's identities. Create one for your own profile, utilize your time in bringing yourselves up. I don’t appreciate this type of people.

Its rampant in our industry that fake accounts get created and some people may take undue advantage of the same. I will complain about this to cyber police of Mumbai let’s see what happens.”

Tina Datta was also troubled by fake accounts, someone created her fake profile and was interacting with her fans. After that I created a fan page for her and gave admin rights to Tina, now she interacts with her fans in her time.

Guys please blow a whistle whenever you find any fake profile on networking sites.
