Talented Sakshi Tanwar has carved a niche for herself in the
telly-world with her powerful role of Parvati Bhabhi in Ekta Kapoor’s popular show
‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’. After playing a
perfect bahu on the small screen for more than eight years; now she is seen as Ram
Kapoor’s wife Priya in 'Bade Achche Lagte Hain'. In an interview with Scrutiny, ravishing and supremely talented actress shares her journey
to tellywood and discloses her New Year plans and fashion fundas...
Sakshi started her career as a host and finally emerged as
an actor with outstanding acting skills. Her acting is highly appreciated at
such a level that producer Ekta Kapoor waited for over 2 years to cast Sakshi
as ‘Priya’ in ‘Bade Acchhe Lagte Hain’. She is one fine actress who has done
almost all genres of roles. After she donned the characters of very ideal and
homely bahus ‘Parvati’ (Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Star Plus) and ‘Gayatri’ (Devi,
Sony TV), it was surprising to see her in a partially negative and mentally
affected character ‘Teepri’ in Balika Vadhu. She was also seen in important
cameo in TV serial ‘Do Saheliyaan’ for Zee TV. She also came back to from where
she started by hosting Crime Patrol.
The actress who has contributed so much to the entertainment
industry didn’t even want to join this industry. She was a normal girl engaged
in studies who stepped in this field by chance. Probably she herself didn’t
have an idea that she will touch such heights and earn so much fame and name. “I had just completed my college and was
looking forward to further studies when my friend called me up and asked to
audition for ”Albela Sur Mela”. I went there randomly and found that one out of
their two hosts left the show suddenly. That was it. I got into his shoes and
took over the show as new host. I didn’t look back after that. I kept getting
shows one after another. Eventually I did Ehsaas, Bhanwar, Rajdhani and
Dastoor. I started enjoying my work by this time. Finally I got Kahani Ghar Ghar
ki and the story that followed is not hidden from anyone”.
The New Year has just begin..how did you celebrate it?
I went to Dehli and started the New Year with my close ones & that’s my family.
Do you believe in New Year resolutions? If yes, then how strictly you stick to your
resolutions?
Resolutions are
something I make when I feel like .It need not be New Year or any specific
occasion. But whenever I make a resolution I try to stick to it.
What is your resolution this year?
I want to take my parents on their first overseas holiday.
You dress up very elegantly and that highlights your natural beauty.
Can you share some expert tips for the young followers on your elegance?
There's a belief that
your clothes speak about your personality. I like to dress in clothes that are
comfortable and go with my persona. Believe in yourself, your confidence &
attitude and that will reflect and bring out the best in you.
What does true
fashion means to you? Following a trend blindly or setting a trend as per your
own comfort?
Clothes alone don't
make a person. I like to strike a balance between trend and comfort. Style
should be a part of one's personality.
A comment on your own
wardrobe, do you feel positive and healthy about your wardrobe?
I am not choosy or
picky about my clothes. My mood rules what I wear and at what occasion I am
wearing them. My wardrobe is full of clothes that I am happy to wear .I am
someone who is very happy and feel positive about the clothes I wear and buy.
There is a situation
for every woman. Her closet is full of clothes yet she has nothing to wear. Do
you feel the same?
Ha ha ha… Isn’t that
the universal truth!
Are you a brand
conscious or comfort conscious? If yes then which brand do you usually rely on?
I do go for brands,
but I am not really a brand-conscious person. My style mantra is comfort .If a
pair of denims is not fitting well or comfortable, however big a brand it may
be, I won't go for it.
Which woman do you
admire the most? What qualities in her are you in awe of?
My role model and icon
is my mother. The values she has engraved in us, the discipline she gave us, and
her humility in everything, makes her the most admired person in my life. I owe
what I am today to her. She is someone I hold very high and in great esteem.
A message for our female readers..
Be proud of being the
woman you are .Remember ,you are the creator, the nurturer and someone who has
unconditional love for those you bring forth in to this world. We are God’s
chosen ones to create mankind!
