Amit Dolawat got the chance to Kiss Sushmita Sen's hand

Amit Dolawat performed samba dance on Dushman Mera.... from Don2 and Senorita from  Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara with Jaswir Kaur of CID fame as felicitation of oldest Samba dance teacher TAO PORCHON LYNCH. She is 94yrs young. “The best thing was that once we finished our performance, we were asked to perform again. And we did it too, without taking any break at all. It was so tiring but we got the extra energy from all the applaud that we were receiving. But ICING on the cake was that I got to kiss the hand of Sushmita Sen. When we were doing the same number again on stage, I did not jump down to kiss her hand and she came up on the stage to remind me,” laughs Amit. 

Currently Amit Dolawat who is busy playing a psychotic husband Abhishek in Sasural Genda Phool.  Says Amit, “I enjoy dancing the Latin forms and I am completely hooked to it. Jaswir and me do occasional Latin jigs sometimes at friend’s parties but this is the first time we both gave a stage performance together. We were both excited and had so much of fun. Jaswir and me were dancing to celebrate the always dancing attitude of the legendary Tao.”

The uniqueness of the event was all the Latin ballroom dance forms like the rumba, samba, cha cha cha, jive and the tango were performed on HINDI and BOLLYWOOD songs by different celebrity performers.

Amit Dolawat to do special Samba performance with Jaswir Kaur

Amit Dolawat, who is busy playing a psychotic husband Abhishek in Sasural Genda Phool, is very excited about his dance performance in front of world’s oldest dancer Ms. TAO PORCHON LYNCH. She is 94yrs young and is coming to India on 10th January 2012. While Sushmita Sen and the legendary Asha Parekh will felicitate her spirit for life and her passion for dancing, Amit Dolawta will dance with Jaswir Kaur of CID fame to honor her.

Says Amit, “I enjoy dancing the Latin forms and I am completely hooked to it. Jaswir and me do occasional Latin jigs sometimes at friend’s parties but this is the first time we both are going to give a stage performance together. We are both excited and geared up for it, especially because Sandip Soparrkar himself is choreographing our performance. Jaswir and me are dancing to celebrate the always dancing attitude of the legendary Tao.”

Latin American ballroom sensation and ace choreographer Mr. Sandip Soparrkar is initiating and putting the whole felicitation ceremony together at the Sheesha lounge in Juhu on the 10th of January 7 to 10 pm in honour of his teacher and mentor TAO.

Amit Dolawat Rescues Rashami Desai again

In an interesting twist in a story,Amit Dolawat proves himself to be a savior for Rashami Desai aka Tapasya from Uttaran. The incident happens on the set of Nachle Ve Wid Saroj Khan where Rashami and his partner Nandish Sandhu were to perform on the Madhubala  song from Mere Brother ki Dulhan but Nandish was unwell on the shoot day. Rashami was very upset and tense about this but at the last minute Amit agreed to replace Nandish and dance with Rashami.  .

Amit practiced the entire day and gave splendid performance in front of Saroj Khan who was very impressed by his act. In fact Saroj Khan praised Amit on his performance by saying, “Your foot work is really smooth and it’s not an easy job to perform magnificently in a day’s time for practice”. Thus Amit again rescues Rashami and proves himself a hard-time performer. Coincidentally previously also Amit had helped Rashami by performing with her on stage when her partner didn’t turn up for the event of Bhojpuri Award Night. In fact that time Amit had just got an hour of practice before coming on stage. "Looks like I am destined to be her partner only at last minute. But I enjoyed the dance," laughs Amit.

Amit who has done impressive characters in serials like Mili, Kesar, Lo Ho gayee Pooja iss ghar kee, Yeh Rishta, Diwali Rishton Ki Mithas, kabhi aaye na judai, kitty party, piya ka ghar, zindagi ek safar, sshh koi hai, kuch love kuch masti etc is enjoying his psychopathic husband’s character of Abhishek in Sasural Genda Phool.
