Why 'Woh Apna Sa' actress Shalini Arora is confused these days?

Shalini Arora, who is currently seen in RajShri Productions's 'Ek Shringaar-Swabhimaan' as the maternal aunt of the lead girls, played by Ankita Sharma and Sangeeta Chauhan is quite elated these days. The vivacious actress has bagged another show 'Woh Apna Sa', which is produced by Alchemy films. She will be playing Prachi, who is chachi of Sudeep Sahir.

Suman snaps at Saanchi for cooking an oily meal..

Suman Kabra (Shalini Arora) is stunned to see Sanchi (Roop Durgapal) and Vivek (Vimarsh Roshan) return home and asks Saanchi to cook dinner. Clueless about the workings of a kitchen, Saanchi calls at Kesar Bagh to ask Ira(Sonal Jha) how to cook. Subhadra(Sushmita Mukherjee) answers the phone and she asks Saanchi to cook on her own. On the dining table of Kesar Bagh, Subhadra informs all about Saanchi's call. Ira feels bad that Subhadra hide this from her.

Meanwhile, Suman snaps at Saanchi for cooking an oily meal. Vivek feels hurt and notices the burn on her arm and gets concerned. Vivek and Saanchi share a romantic moment. Amol is waiting for Shiv (Siddharth Shukla) and Anandi(Toral Rasputra) when Subhadra comes and misbehaves with him.

'Pavitra Bandhan' to go on-air from 9th September, Shalini Arora to play Pishi Maa

Ekta Kapoor is coming with a new show ‘Pavitra Bandhan’on Doordarshan. Yash Tonk and Hritu Dhudani are playing protagonist, where as Muni Jha and Shailley Kaushik will be playing pivotal roles in the show.

Pavitra Rishta fame Shalini Arora is roped to play bua of Yash Tonk. Yash, who lost his parents is close to his bua and fondly calls her Pishi Maa (which means Bua in Bengali). Talking about her character Shalini Arora said, “Be it Bhavana Kaki of ‘Pavitra Rishta,’ Manorama of ‘Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha’ or Thakuraain of ‘Phulwa’, I always try to select the role which leaves impact on audience. In Pavitra Bandhan I am playing Shanti, who is Bua of Girish(Yash Tonk). It’s a very positive and strong character. She has raised her family with her own hard work and restless efforts. She didn’t even marry to take care of her family.”

When we asked her when the show is expected to go on air, she said, “Pavitra Bandhan will be launched on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturti, which is on 9th September. It will air from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.”

Anuraag Sharma sheds off his boy-next-door image

TV Actor Anuraag Sharma shot to fame with his role of Satish in the show Pavitra Rishta. He recently got an image makeover from the sweet-shy-boy-next-door to sexy-bold man. A couple of months ago he did a photo shoot with model Bharvi Goswami on Kamasutra theme.

Photos were aesthetically shot by Fashion Photographer Rashi Arora. She is daughter of Shalini Arora, who portrayed Anuraag’s mother’s character in Pavitra Rishta.

When contacted Rashi said, “Shooting Kamasutra was a challenging task for me, very unusual, controversial yet different. Kamasutra has always been a very notorious topic through ages & it’s my nature to always do things which are beyond my limits. That’s why I took up this concept which has been conceptualized by so many people in a different manner; I decided to put it up in my way.”

She further added, “Though it required a lot of hard work in terms of location, property, models, jewellery and costumes etc, I decided to take a punch. And when the final product came everybody including me was astonished, the work which we had seen in architecture form was in the form of real pictures.”

We tried to contact Anuraag but he remained unavailable to comment.

Shalini Arora to enter in Phulwa as Thakurain

Phulwa(Sargun Mehta) was being sentenced to life imprisonment. Villages opposed this decision so to gain public sympathy and to win upcoming election Thakur Daroga Singh(Sai Ballal) not only withdraw the case against Phulwa but also announced his consent to accept her as his daughter-in-law.

According to latest buzz, Shalini Arora will enter in Phulwa as helpless wife of Thakur. Shalini is well known as for playing the role of Bhavana in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ and ‘Manorama’ in ‘Apno Ke Liye...Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha’.

She was terrorized by Thakur and stays mum. She is treated as an underdog by Thakur. He all the time thinks she is an abshaguni so he sends her on a teerth yatra. Thakurain was unaware about his real son's death and Shatrughan (Ajay Chaudhary).

Shalini Arora confirmed the news, “Yes I am entering in Phulwa. Everybody calls me Thakurain, my character name has not been decided yet. My birthday is tomorrow and entering in Phulwa is like a gift for me my birthday”.

Her entry will be telecast on Thursday.

Let's wait and watch to see changes in Thakur's life post her entry..

Now I want to do some negative character : Shalini Arora

Shalini Arora is currently playing pivotal roles in ‘Pavitra Rishta and ‘Apno Ke Liye...Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha’.She did many daily soaps like Tere Liye, Kayamath, Sabki ladli bebo, Jaha pe basera ho, etc.

I managed to catch the actress in-between her hectic shooting schedule for a candid chat.

When was the first time you faced camera?
In 2001, my first show was 'Asha ki Kiran' for ETV Hindi, where I played the badi bahu.

How has the experience been in Apno Ke Liye...Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha?
Very nice, I am playing Manorama, mother of Geeta. Manorama is very straight forward lady, she is very supportive to her husband and knows how to maintain family.

Do you think Geeta would have got better ratings if it was placed at a prime time slot?
Yes off course.

Why?
Because the concept is very strong, its passive and aggressive story. Geeta got TRP ratings of 1.3 in first week at 6:30 time slot, and our average TRP is .9 to .7, I think it could have been much better if Geeta will be aired at prime time.

Can you share your memorable moments from the Pavitra Rishta?
Pavitra Rishta is very special to me. I did so much of work prior Pavitra Rishta, but I got name and fame after playing Bhavana Kaki. I got Geeta..because of Pavitra Rishta, that too on the same channel.

There are rumours that Pavitra Rishta is going off air soon, is it true?
No, not at all. Pavitra Rishta is no. 1 show and is getting constant TRP. I agree PVR faced so much of ups and downs in TRP's. Don't know why people are spreading such rumours.

What do you enjoy playing most; positive or negative?
Till now all the characters that I portrayed are positive, now I want to do some negative character.

Why negative?
Because I think that doing the typical positive roles with rona-dhona, is easy when compared to negative vampish roles. And when you are doing negative roles you get the chance to try yourself with voice modulations and character change, negative character holds more emotions.

Did you feel that you are repeating yourself by portraying same motherly characters?
At times I did feel that all the roles are quite repetitive. But you have to agree that all the characters are motherly, but there presentation is different.

You were mostly associated with Balaji shows, any particular reason?
I love working here, the security and the recognition that one gets in Balaji never makes you say no to Balaji Telefilms.

If given an option to leave Balaji for another Big Production house, will you say yes?
NO, I will not leave Balaji.

Were you offered any reality shows?
Not yet, but I am waiting for it.

What type of reality show you are looking forward to?
Bigg Boss(smiles)

Why Bigg Boss?
Because its quite appealing.

Have you come across any differences with your co-stars till date?
I like to stay away from controversies.

Tell us something that people do not know about Shalini?
I can dance well (smiles).

Shalini Arora dons new avatar for Zee TV's Geeta!..

Shalini Arora well-known as Bhavna from her much watched Balaji show on Zee TV ‘Pavitra Rishta’, will now be seen in a new avatar. She is playing role of Geeta’s mother in Zee TV’s upcoming show ‘Apno Ke Liye...Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha’. It is produced by Shreya Creations, and expected to get the 6-6.30 pm time slot. The promos of the show are already on air and looks promising.

Shalini Arora did many daily soaps like Pavitra Rishta, Tere Liye, Kayamath, Sabki ladli bebo, Jaha pe basera ho, etc. After playing Marathi and Bengali characters in Pavitra Rishta and Tere Liye respectively, she is ready to portray a Bihari lady.

“Manorama is a lady with a positive attitude, she has two sons and one daughter Geeta. Geeta is loved by her family immensely. Being the only girl child, she is nothing less than a precious jewel in the house. She was extremely pampered, privileged and protected, like a veritable princess she wasn't allowed to do work. I dislike this because I wanted her to know the worldly life, "she quips.

“Manorama’s character is different from my role of Bhavna in PVR. I am trying different roles, like playing a Marathi house wife in PVR, a Bengali lady in Tere Liye and now a bihari woman,” Shalini said in a statement.

The show explores various facets of human relationships and emotions when the Geeta finds her family caught in a sudden twist of fate. I wish the Shalini Arora good luck for his new avatar.
