Kamya Punjabi and Sangram Singh break Big Brother UK’s record

Kamya Punjabi and Sangram Singh have always come across as tough contenders in the Bigg Boss house. These ingenious contestants have always given their sweat and blood to every task that they have undertaken and have proved themselves. This time around, they have not only given a performance that was paramount but have also proven to be the stalwarts of this season.

As a part of the luxury budget task, the three contenders Andy, Sangram and Kamya were asked to undertake the Bigg Box task where they were to survive inside a box with an aid of a survival kit. The one contestant, who is able to survive inside the box for the maximum time would win the ‘Ticket to Finale’ task by securing a position in the grand finale. While Andy is the first one to come out of the box after surviving for approximately 19 hours, Sangram and Kamya still continue to perform the task and survive in the box.

As a result of their strong will and determination, Kamya and Sangram have broken the record of Big Brother UK by surviving in the box for more than 26 hours. Soon after they break the record, Bigg Boss makes an announcement and congratulates Sangram and Kamya on their achievement. While it was a moment of pride for Kamya and Sangram, the housemates also applauded the duo.

Even after achieving a milestone and adding another feather to their cap, Kamya and Sangram continue to survive in the box with the desire to reach the grand finale. Later Bigg Boss call off the task.

Bigg Boss asked Gauahar Khan, Armaan Kohli, Tanisha Mukherjee, Ajaz Khan, Kushal Tandon and Andy to select the winner between Sangram and Kamya. But both Sanram and Kamya received 3 votes, so Bigg Boss asked Andy (who is captian of the house) to select the winner. Andy chose Sangram over Kamya.

Desi girl Deana Uppal compared to Shilpa Shetty with Big Brother!

Asians as well as Britons are expecting a lot out of Deana Uppal; the new desi in UK’s reality show Big Brother since Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.

But Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar, who happens to be Shilpa’s ex-publicist, feels Deana and Shilpa are two different personalities which many are trying to mix.

According to the public relations expert, Deana has hit some right and similar chords on the show. He points out that Conor McIntyre, Deana’s co-participant on Big Brother, ranted to his fellow housemates about Deana after she failed to finish eating her chosen dish in the Confusing Cusine task.

“If you remember, Jade Goody’s argument with Shilpa too, began over food, when Jade refused to eat the chicken Shilpa had made,” Dale reminds. True! Both Conor and Jade's arguments also resulted in a huge number of complaints to the British Office of Communications, commonly known as Ofcom.

By comparing Deana with Shilpa, the publicity expert feels, people are missing the bigger picture. “Shilpa was an epitome of goodness and a great forgiver. At the same time, in Big Brother she was the righteous fighter and a survivor beyond comparison,” he remarks.

The 23-year-old Deana, who lives in Mumbai now, is basically a model from Birmingham, and also the reigning Miss India UK.

Considering the volatile situation most Housemates face in Big Brother, no doubt, it will be an extremely uphill task for her to match that charisma and what Dale terms as “the Shilpa-effect”. “Though anyone would be happy if she does,” he adds on a positive note.
