With 'Ek Thhi Naayka', Sakshi hopes for another hit with Balaji

Mumbai, March 5 (IANS) Small screen's favourite 'bahu' Sakshi Tanwar will soon be seen in Ekta Kapoor's new promotional show "Ek Thhi Naayka" and hopes their success saga continues with the show.

Sakshi had teamed up with Ekta, boss of Balaji Telefilms, in successful TV show "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii". Currently the actress is doing "Bade Achhe Lagte Hain", again produced by the same banner.

"Balaji and Ekta are more like a family now. It is a bond, which is hard to crack. There is a level of understanding and professionalism, which is deep set between Balaji and me," the 40-year-old told reporters Monday at the launch of the show.

"By god's grace, we have been able to give many success stories. I hope the same happens with 'Ek Thhi Naayka'," added the actress.

"Ek Thhi Naayka" has been made as a promotional series to promote Ekta's film "Ek Thi Daayan". In the show, small screen's eight leading ladies will present eight different stories.

"I feel it is a unique and a beautiful concept to bring together leading ladies of television and make a show with them. Stories from different states will be presented and the different concepts of the film will be shown in the show. I have a feeling that it will work," Sakshi said.

When asked if she believes in the paranormal, Sakshi said: "I have only heard stories as a child and it is hard to say whether these things are true or not."

"...I have not come across any such thing in reality," she added.

Apart from Sakshi, the TV series will feature Smriti Irani, Aamna Shariff, Shweta Tiwari, Mouli Ganguly, Ankita Lokhande, Kritika Kamra and Pooja Gor.

The eight-part TV series will go air March 9 on Life OK.

Vishal Bhardwaj, Ekta Kapoor to do cameos in 'Ek Thhi Naayka'

Mumbai: ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ producers Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor will be seen doing cameo roles in TV series ‘Ek Thhi Naayka’ for promoting their film. Cast members Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi will also be seen in the series.

"Emraan will be in the final episode. All the actors will do cameo roles in the show. Vishal Bhardwaj will make his entry in the first episode," Ekta Kapoor said at the launch of the TV series held here Monday evening.

Apprehensive about being on screen for the first time, Ekta revealed that hers will be a small cameo.

"I am the most terrible actress you can find on the face of this earth. I will be coming in a small cameo," she said.

Talking about the subject of the film, Ekta said that it was folklore and was not a true story.

"Folklore has been embedded in our psychology. This is a reading of India`s folklore. It is all fiction and not a true story," she said.

The TV series will include some of the biggest celebrities of television. Eight established TV actresses - Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Aamna Shariff, Shweta Tiwari, Mouli Ganguly, Ankita Lokhande, Kritika Kamra and Pooja Gor will be seen. The eight=part TV series will go air from March 9.

Talking about the cast, Ekta expressed her gratitude towards the stars.

"I have been a part of all of their lives but they have become stars on their own. I am amazed at the warmth they have shown me. Each one of them agreed instantly to do my show," she said.

Ekta Kapoor to make mini-series ‘Dayaan’ based on upcoming film 'Ek Thi Daayan'

No doubt Ekta Kapoor rules the TRP chart..and created history by producing blockbuster shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kashuti Zindagi Ki, Pavitra Rishta etc. We heard she is making a mini-series on Life OK.

The series of episodes is titled ‘Dayaan’, based on Ekta's upcoming film Ek Thi Daayan starring Emraan Hashmi and Konkona Sen Sharma. ‘Daayan’ might comprise of 6 episodes & whispered to be a weekly show with each starring one television actress. 

According to our sources, “Smriti Irani (Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi), Sakshi Tanwar (Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki), Shweta Tiwari (Kasauti Zindagi Kay), Aamna Shariff (Kahiin Toh Hoga), Kritika Kamra (Kitani Mohabbat Hai), Pooja Gor, Mouli Ganguly and Ankita Lokhande (Pavitra Rishta) will be part of series. Smriti will be seen in the first episode of the series.”
