After a gap of eight years, Annup Sonii has returned to his first love, theatre. The versatile actor, who has for long been anchoring the reality-based television show, Crime Patrol on television, couldn’t take up any other project because of the hectic shoot schedule.
Now, that Annup has taken a break from TV, he is now excited to be part of a new play that he is working on and also wants to focus on movies and his first love, theatre.
Annup informs, “Theatre is where I started my acting journey. I’ve been a student of National School of Drama (NSD) and had the privilege to perform on stage with some noted and brilliant actors. Since I was quite occupied with my television shows all these years, there was hardly any time left for me to do anything else. But in this new play, my character is really interesting and I am doing something that I haven’t done before on stage. It’s intense and drawn from real people.”
“I think it’s an individual choice. I personally enjoy performing for theatre as it’s live and your audience is in front of you, and there are no retakes,” he adds.
