Linkedin and Twitter will work together

Just heard that Linkedin and Twitter will work together. When we set our status on LinkedIn we can now tweet it as well, amplifying it to our followers and real-time search services like Twitter Search and Bing. And when we tweet, we can send that message to our LinkedIn connections as well, from any Twitter service or tool.

This feature is launched yesterday and now available to all of users, making that two-way communication between our status updates and tweets a breeze to set up.

ON LINKED IN:
All we need to do is check the Twitter box under our Network Updates box on the homepage and follow a few simple steps.

Clicking through the setup process will allow you to specify the Twitter account that you’d like to sync and/or display on your LinkedIn profile.

ON TWITTER :
As part of the setup process, you can choose to either send all your tweets or select tweets from Twitter back to LinkedIn as a status update.

If you pick the latter, don’t forget to add the #li or #in hashtag to every relevant tweet you’d like to send back to LinkedIn.

So go ahead and get started. Link your LinkedIn and Twitter accounts today to add a new dimension to your professional conversation

My heart can’t afford to be just friends...

My heart can’t afford to be just friends.

It's you **o*i . You're the one I talk and dream about all the time, the one I can't stop thinking about. The one that can make me laugh when I don't even want to smile, the one that can make me feel better in .001 micro seconds. It's you that I’m crazy about.

You don't realize how much it means to me when you sit with me or call me.

You know when you’re sitting on a chair and you lean back so you’re just on two legs then you lean too far and you almost fall over but at the last second you catch yourself? I feel like that around you all the time. I'd rather be standing outside in the freezing cold with you than to be warm in the arms of someone else.

I want you to be the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night and before I take my last gulp of air. Everyone wants to be remembered for something, I just want to be remembered by you.

This is ridiculous

After the Chinese demands for Arunachal Pradesh, Google now has started FOOLING Indians as well !!Google shows different maps to Indians and Chinese. In the Indian Version, it shows “Arunachal Pradesh” as a Disputed region (Not even a part of India) where as in the Chinese version, it shows Arunachal Pradesh as an Integral Part of CHINA!

Here are the snap shots of maps that I saw.

We are one in heart...

Received this poem from one of my colleague, I like this so I post it here.
I've made a vow, to no one but you
I pledge my love to forever be true
I'll take care of you and treat you right
I'll lay beside you all through the night
I'll feed you and clothe you and keep you warm
I'll hug you and kiss you and give shelter in the storm
I'll help you and guide you and clear a path
I'll protect you and shield you from an angry man's wrath
I'll listen to your problems help you solve them too
I'll make you a rainbow and let the sun shine through
I'll take your side even if you're wrong
Just to prove our love is strong
I'll plant you flowers and make them grow
They'll be a symbol of love that only we'll know
I'll whisper your name when no one is near
So low that only you can hear
You'll feel my love even if we're apart
You'll know that we are one in heart

Monday blues...

"Creativity is a central source of meaning in our lives... & when we are involved in it, we feel that we are living more fully than during the rest of life."

OMG, I can relate to that quote. When I feel the creative impulse sparkling and bubbling up from within and I just ignore it, pushing it back down, I feel alive but anesthetized and numb. Comfortably numb (…Pink Floyd fans know what I mean). But when I obey my creative voice, make a date with it and draw, skect, paint or write, slowly the feeling comes back to that which was numb. It's mysterious and wonderful. Have you had that experience?

Be risky - it's Monday, what do you have to lose? Get lost in your creative voice today...

Cheers,

One Day You’ll Also Cry For Me

Do you remember all the times
When you would come to me in tears
Do you remember all the silly rhymes
I would say to hear your laughter cheer

Did you not love me
The way that I loved you,
Could you just not see
Didn’t you have just one clue

So now that I’ve come to grips
I simply must say,
When you cry do not expect my lips
To kiss the pain away

When your sad and blue
Don’t turn to look behind,
For I will no longer be there behind you
To make the sun come out and shine

I have but one last thing to say
And these are the words that will let it be,
Let it be what it was from the very first day,

When your tears are falling,Now Don’t Cry For Me...

Thoda wish karo…

Relationships are delicate. Unless you tend to them with a lot of love, care and attention, they may die sooner even before you realize. We wish our love to stay by our side forever but destiny may have something else in store. Those who are single may wish to fall in love and be in a relationship. The silver lining is wishes often do come true. All you have to do is wish. If you don’t wish, then how can you expect them to come true in the first place?....isliye thoda wish karo…

Can we love that too?

I remember sitting in my yoga class a light years back when our teacher Mrs. Philip invited us to close our eyes and entertain a romantic fantasy. She asked us to draw a picture in our minds of the perfect guy/ gal/ man or a woman, a person with whom we were in love, or had a crush on, or for whom we simply had a strong infatuation or for whom we are crazy. We were to sketch in our minds every last detail like their hair, their eyes, their lips, their shape, their eyebrows, their dimples, everything about them we found beautiful/ gorgeous/ pretty or attractive. She asked us to focus on how astonishing they were and to celebrate our love or emotion for them.

Done...

I imagined a girl in my mind and felt a sweltering/ searing/ sizzling pulse of warm affection, as I assume, was intended.

Then she said, ‘Now imagine the object of your affection...naked…. Without clothes.’

Ohh!!! Done…

The temperature in the room must have risen several Fahrenheit’s among the students. It couldn't get any better than this.

Finally, she said, ‘Now, I want you to picture this love of your life, in your mind's eye, naked and beautiful......on the toilet. I want you to picture them picking their nose and wiping the snot in an unseemly place. I want you to see them mining for earwax and looking at its texture. I want you to picture them urinating, listening to the pee as it tinkles, I want you to smell them passing gas in the most pungent/ strong sense, I want you to listen to them grunt, defecating in the loudest manner possible, dropping feces into the water below...’

I can't assure about anyone else in the room...but my perfect fantasy just turned to nightmare…I swear literally into a nightmare.

Then, pausing for effect, she concluded her experiment by saying, ‘Now, if you can still tell me you love them...then I believe you.’

Her point was well-taken. When we consider love, beauty, what is attractive in a person, it usually begins on the surface, how they look, whether clothed or even naked. Then, as we mature, we realize that the object of our love, our fantasy must go beyond the superficial to what's inside, their intelligence, personality, their emotional maturity and spirituality. But are these the only things that lie inside a person? Should these ghostly / insubstantial / ethereal qualities be the only reason for our love and intimacy? As my teacher helped us ponder: what about the physical-internal, both the pleasant and the not so pleasant? Can we love that too?

Thanks Mrs. Philip….

Wish for a love...

If you wish for love then you are not alone. Love is wished for by most people, no matter where they live or what language they speak or how much they earn or how educated they are. Love knows no boundaries of age, location or gender. In fact, some peoples around the world says love is equal to God. When you wish for love, it’s as if you wish for God. No one feels complete in life unless they are loved by someone or have someone to love. There is perhaps no other thing in this world that can make anyone as happy as love does.
With Love...

My Comment : KRK thrown out from Bigg Boss house.

Aaah…I darfted this after KRK removal from BB and forgot to post it.

The abusive, rude, foul, impatient, violent tempered, brash Kamal Khan a.k.a KRK (…as he pompously calls himself..lolzzz) has been expelled from the Bigg boss house. So if this guy was so violent (he threw a bottle at a fellow inmate Rohit Verma) and short tempered (…he kept flying off the handle at the least provocation) what was he doing in a show which requires him to share space with 12 other contestants?

Should not reality show contestants be made to go through some sort of test to gauge if they can be put in a community fish bowl? Even when we sets up a fish tank at home we are careful not to combine the aggressive fish with the mild ones for the fear of an assault. And KRK did just that!!! when he did that Bigg Boss promptly threw him out of the show. This is a classic case of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Now the channel and the production house are laughing and crying at the same time. Laughing because KRK had until then single handedly upped the ratings of the show and crying because now the show may lose its punch. By merely getting rid of the culprit/ offender does it absolve all concerned from having let loose a nutty man in the house? Since the rule book says that anyone who gets abusive or violent will be expelled from the house why in the first place invite such an individual to play the game? …[Lets see what will happen to Vindu Dara Singh].

Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti !!!...

Today is Guru Nanak Jayanthi. I extend to you all, my heartfelt wishes for the same. Guru Nanak Jayanti is the birthday of the first Sikh Guru, ‘Guru Nanak Dev ji’, and one of the most sacred festivals in India. The 10 Sikh Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs. Their birthdays, known as Gurupurabs, are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs. The Gurupurab is celebrated every year with great pomp and show across the globe.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji (the First Guru, the founder of Sikhism) was born on 14 April 1469.The birthday of Guru Nanak Sahib falls on Kartik Poornima, i.e., the day of the full moon in the month of Kartik. The celebration is generally similar for all Gurpurabs; only the hymns are different. In India especially in Punjab, people comes from different states to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birthday with religious fervour at Golden temple in Amritsar. All the Gurudwaras will be light up decoratively and people will come to worship waheguru on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Two cents from Olympia...

Received an email from Olly…

Life is not all that complicated, it is we who complicate it. Everyone has a share of good times and bad... it's easy to smile during good times but to make a difference is to smile even during the bad. And ofcourse there are friends and family who give us the strength and love to get ahead through any situation. A positive outlook towards life is a lifesaver.

What a great thought …isn't it?....

Cup Cakes 4 You [part-1]

To a change and to the hope we share…

Hey Buddies n Butterflies…

Many of us go through the difficult times in life. Some every now and then, some very often. The difficulties faced can range from the tiniest bit of fighting with friends, to more serious stuff like murderous/ suicidal thoughts and depression. Many a times, people cannot help in the situation and nobody will understand what goes through our minds and how we are taking it.

I go through many of this troubling stuff. It is very very disturbing. And when I turn to someone else to discuss it, something’s always seem to be my fault still, no matter how hard I try to explain how I feel. Nobody can understand what I was going through and how I was feeling. This has been happening all my life, and like many other people in the world who go through their own problems, many a times there is nobody who would listen to us, and so we keep it deep in ourselves. Letting it eat us up slowly bit by bit.

Some things on the other hand are just out of our control. We just cannot help it at all. There is no chance, no matter what we do to avoid something, it still happens(…like in case with Bhairavi, Ravi and Simon). We can complain, we can talk to people, but then it still doesn't change things and cannot help. In the end there is only one thing we can do, hope for the best. Two ways to go about it, drop it and leave it, run away from everything and make it easier for ourselves OR we can hold on tight, stay strong even in our weakest times, do not lose faith, try our best to help the situation and again hope for the best. There is only so much we can do, most important thing is that we try and not give up so easily. Life is never gonna be any more easier for us nor other people. We all have our own problems and troubles, in one form or another. We may be different, but we are all still subject to life and its games.

So, lets face it strongly, looking up, and take it head on. To give up or not to give up. But in the end, either way that comes, there is one thing that we all share, no matter how big or small or rich or poor. We share the hope that everything will be all right, everything will work out fine, everything will still go on. We share that one hope. For ourselves or others, just a spark of hope. And that hope will make all the difference.

To a change and to the hope we share…

Cheers…

I Only Can Smile Back...

When your boss gives you a firm thumbs up and say thanks for a job well done(…like my ex-module lead Ankit gives), how would you feel?

I know it felt so great to be appreciated and knowing that I have done something right. I haven't have this feeling for a very, very long time while working for ‘***a**’. Because nobody gives a shit if you are doing things right there, but they give you 2 shits if you did minor mistakes and deep shit if it's a big one(...I face exactly same while working under my previous module lead Y***ni). That’s one of the reason why I left ‘***a**’.

I was asked zillions of times, if I regretted leaving ‘***a**’, my answer is plain straightforward and simple, *NO, in fact, I could have left a lot earlier. Having the opportunity to work in ‘***a**’was awesome/ breathtaking, but it was even greater to have been there and out. I bring with me valuable lessons, contacts, networks, hands-on reel life work experiences, and they all seems useful to me now.

From CEO of ‘***a**’ to security guard, from directors to ward kaka each and every one are like family to me (...thats the only reason why I still work as freelancer whenever ‘***a**’ needs me).

Tulsi Vivaah...

Today in our India, festival of Tulsi Vivaah is celebrated. Tulsi Vivaah is the marriage of tulsi plant with lord Vishnu or his incarnation Krishna. From the 11th moonlit fortnight, also known as Prabhodini or Devuthni Gyarash [Dev + Utnhi + Gyarash means God(…Dev) wakes up(..uthna) on 11th (…Gyarah) day after Diwali], till the full moon or Pournima of kartik for five days, there continues a tradition of a ritual marriage of the tulsi with Krishna.

Tulsi or tulas is the herb plant and regarded as a holy household plant in our India. It is believed to be a destroyer of demons and evil spirits. Unmarried girls worship it for a happy married life(...unmarried guys wont pray? they dont want happy married life?), married women to be blessed with children and widows to attain salvation(….I think Widower already got salvation that’s why only Widows are supposed to do all the rituals).

It is difficult to find a Hindu house without the Tulsi Vrindavan (…Pedestal). Earlier the pedestal where the tulsi was planted was manually made of clay. Watering the Tulsi Vrindavan, applying sandalwood paste, turmeric and red powder (…kumkum) and also adorning it with flowers and lamps is a tradition observed even today among Hindu women.

During chavath, a canopy(…a.k.a matoli in some places) is erected in front of the Tulsi vrundavan with a variety of fruits and flowers. The Prabodhini ekadishi (….or Devuthni Gyarash)is celebrated as vhodli or dev diwali or choti diwali. It marks the conclusion of chaturmas, a four month period when Lord Vishnu is believed to take a long sleep on ashad shuddha ekadashi and awakens on kartik shuddha ekadashi. Tulsi lagna(…Tusli Marriage) is one of the most important festivals. No marriage ceremony will be held before Tulsi lagna as it does not enjoy religious sanction among Hindus. The clay pedestal(…Tulsi Vrindavan) has today been replaced by a concrete one that varies in shape, size and color. Every year before the Tulsi lagna, the pedestal is painted and decorated. In rural areas, women make square shaped pedestals of clay and apply a paste of cow dung to them. This Tulsi Vrindavan is then decorated with wild flowers and yellow coloured marigold. On tulsi lagna, a tender stick of dino (Leea indica or Bandicoot berry) is brought and designs carved on it.

DINO or Leea Indica

This dino stick symbolically represents the bride groom of the tulsi vrindavan. The Tulsi vrindavan is decorated like a bride. Inside the pedestal in some areas a wild plants along with pods is planted which is decorated with marigold flowers. A stem of sugarcane is also planted. Fruits of Amla (Emblica Officinalis) and Tamarind (…Tamarindus indica) are placed inside the pedestal. Head gears made from pseudo banana stems are tied during the marriage ceremony to the Tulsi as well as dino plants. Akshatas(… or rice grains) are thrown to solemnize the marriage. All marriage rituals are performed on this occasion. Chanting of holy hymns known as mangalashtakas accord a sense of sanctity, associating it with the feelings of having performed a pious deed.
In some areas after solemnizing the marriage, married women light lakshavat ( … wicks of hands spun cotton threads on banana pseudo-stems). The wick bundles (…alos known as Jodvi) are allowed to burn completely. Women then go round the pedestal performing Pradakshina. Married women fast for two days, on tulsi vivah and the day prior to it. They eat vegetarian food which mainly consist of sweet potatoes, tuber roots, fruits and sweet dishes.
Cheers,
-K Himaanshu Shuklaa..
