TAM Ratings Week 47, 2014: Zee TV, Life OK and Sony gain big.. Epic launches with 1.2 GVMs..

The ranking order of the six topmost Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) remained the same in the week 47 of TAM TV ratings. The channel’s to gain this week are Zee TV, Life OK and Sony Entertainment Television (SET).

Thus, Zee TV at number three reported 433 million GVTs, up from 419 million GVTs, Life OK continues to have a strong run at number four with 326 million GVTs, up from 313 million GVTs and SET at number six garnered 207 million GVTs, up from 190 million GVTs.

The numero uno Star Plus scored 631 million GVTs, down from 658 million GVTs, Colors at number two recorded 482 million GVTs, down from 483 million GVTs and Sab noted 276 million GVTs, down from 296 million GVTs at number five.

On the other hand, Big Magic stood at 69 million GVTs, up from 61 million GVTs.

Zindagi and Sony Pal shared the same position with 30 million GVTs.

Epic, the segmented Hindi entertainment channel which launched on 19 November, managed to clock just 1.2 GVMs (gross television viewership in million) in its three-and-a-half-day run.

Sahara One was at No 9 with 10 GVMs compared to 9 in the previous week.

Kritika Kamra to make Bollywood debut with Neil Bhoopalam?

Kitni Mohabbat Hai fame Kritika Kamra is all set to shine on silver screen. The pretty actress has been roped to play a leading lady in Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma's directorial debut.

Neil Bhoopalam, who was last seen in TV series 24 will be seen opposite Kritika. For those uninitiated, Neil will be seen in Ungli and Anushka Sharma starrer NH 10.

The film is a peculiar comedy set in Mumbai and will go on floors in early next year.

Veera to go off-air..Masterchef to replace it?

We reported earlier that Cinevistaas' Ek Haseena Thi, Yash Patnaik's Veer Ki Ardaas..Veera and Rajshri Productions' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara will be pulled off-air making way for the new ones.

Pyaar Ka Dard already went off air and Ek Haseena Thi will soon shut the shop. Now we heard, Star Plus another popular show Veera is all set to bid adieu in January, 2015. It will be replaced by Masterchef India 4.

According to our sources, “Channel wanted to axe Veera, but then they decided to give a new lease of life to the show. But as Star Plus is coming up with another season of Masterchef and required a vacant time slot, so now they decided to pull the plug on Veera. The show might be shifted to the early evening 5 or 6:30pm time slot, but chances are very less.”

When contacted, Yash Patnaik said, "No, Veera is not going off air".

#BiggBoss8 Day 66 Synopsis:Some Pursue Happiness While Others Shed Tears

The App Task continues on Day 66 of the Bigg Boss 8. Housemates wake up to yet another tech savvy day filled with emotions and tears.

Equations seem to be changing during Puneet’s captaincy as Gautam and Diandra seem to be spending more and more time with each other. While once friends Dimpy and Ali have turned foes now .Renee boycotts her recharge tasks even today. Sonali is seen going around the house in search of a new friend as her tiff with Upen and Gautam still continues. Karishma still has high hopes of meeting her mother.

As the afternoon prevails, Pritam is the lucky one to be summoned in the activity area. Pritam is provided with an opportunity to meet his wife Amanjyot as one of his options. As expected he jumps up to grab the rare wish and drains out 32% of the battery. However it is better not to expect anything in the Bigg Boss house. As Pritam went inside the Snapdeal room to meet his wife, he is a little disappointed to see a glass window between him and his wife. Seeing his wife standing in front of him with tears is her eyes Pritam’s emotions knew no bounds.

While having a much awaited conversation on the headphones, Amanjyot tells Pritam how much she loves him and that he is doing great. But she is worried about him getting influenced by Puneet and Gautam. . Pritam agrees with Aman stating that he had been influenced for a couple of weeks but now he is back on track and will stand up for what is right and what is wrong. Just as Pritam thought this was it, Bigg Boss surprises him once again by bringing his 14 months old son Aditya to him. Pritam then requests Bigg Boss that if he cannot really hug his wife due to the glass door he would really want to take his son inside the house to make him meet all the other housemates. All the housemates are happy to meet the young Pritam leaving all of them absolutely emotional.

After meeting his wife Pritam is found mingling in the house with a new found energy just like how Gautam flourished after meeting his mother. Puneet and Karishma who are still waiting to participate in the app task continue hoping for a surprise for them too.. But what the Bigg Boss house has in store for them will surely leave the housemates shocked. With technology comes responsibility too, but what if the person is not responsible at all? Karishma and Puneet will get the taste of the same.

Iqbal Khan, who was last seen in Life Ok's Tumhaari Pakhi will be soon seen doing stunts in Colors' reality show. We caught up with this talented actor before he was leaving for Capetown to shoot for Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. Excerpts of his interview:

Is it a long due for Iqbal Khan to do a reality show?
I was little reluctant to do a reality show because of politics and extra drama that happens in most of the reality show. The first time they called me for Fear Factor, I said no. Then they called me again and tried to convince me by telling that this show is performance based and it has got nothing to do with how much natak you do. After that I gave green signal for Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Since you said it's completely based on performance, so there is absolutely no scripting happening in Khatron Ke Khiladi?
Little bit of scripting is there like last year they did a scene from Deewar. But that's just for the entertainment purpose otherwise the show will become monotonous.

Do you follow Khatron Ke Khiladi?
No I don't. I have not even seen an episode completely. And I don't want to watch it as I don't want to go with any perception.

Is there anything that freaks you about KKK?
As of now I cannot think of anything. I am not scared of creepy, crawlies or heights. If there is a rope and you have to walk in it. For me, to go on the rope is not a problem; I can go without any fear. But what matters is whether I can sustain over there or not?

How adventurous are you in real life?
I love sky diving and bungee jumping, but I am sure we are going to do much more than that.

Do you know other contestants?
I don't know much about them, I only know Aashish(Chaudhary), Hussain(Kuwajerwala) and Asha(Negi).

Do you think if a reality show has a Bollywood film-maker like Rohit Shetty featuring in it, then probably the contestants could have upper hand in bagging himself or herself a project in Bollywood?
If a filmmaker maker is featured in a reality show and then he decides to make a film with one of the contestants then he might get say 10 crores for the film, but that will be based on that filmmaker’s recognition not because of contestant. On the other hand, if that filmmakers makes the same film with a star then he might get 50 crores. Which is much more a lavish budget, so why wouldn't a filmmaker do a film with stars then to do it with a contestant like me? I don't see any of these reality shows helping me in that case.

Any kind of preparations you are doing right now for KKK?
I think it's more of a mental game than physical one. I am doing little bit of gymming and exercises.

Diya Aur Baati Hum fame Gautam Gulati, who is currently seen in Bigg Boss season 8 has a humshakal. Yes you heard it right, his brother Mohit is his spitting-image.

Mohit is not Gautam's twin, he is Gautam's elder brother. People often confuse him as Gautam and vice-versa.

#BiggBoss8 Day 65 Synopsis:Gautam's mom visits Bigg Boss house!

For everyone in the 21st Century, our dependence on technology has gone above and beyond our expectations from humanity. And as Day 65 dawns in the Bigg Boss house, the exact amount of dependency that the contestants have on technology and how much they are willing to sacrifice for it will become open knowledge!

As noon approaches, Bigg Boss announces the luxury budget task for the week called the App Task. As a part of this task, Upen Patel and Renee Dhyani are made the batteries of the house while the other contestants will be given an opportunity to explore the apps that are presented before them when Bigg Boss summons them to the activity area. For every app that the contestants use, they will consume some percentage of the battery. To recharge the battery, Upen and Renee will be required to take up tasks making them the most integral members of the house for the duration of the task. However, these batteries are also given the option to decline a recharge if they don’t want to perform the task set up before them. The contestants are made aware that if the battery drains out and reaches the zero mark, then the task will be deemed over and the housemates will lose the luxury budget for the coming week. Keeping this in mind, the contestants collectively decide that team spirit is the way to go to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to milk the apps to their best abilities.

As the task begins, Sonali is the first housemate to be invited to the Activity Room followed by Dimpy Mahajan, Praneet Bhatt, Diandra Soares and Gautam Gualti. Sonali Raut chooses to use two apps thereby consuming almost half of the battery at one go. Outside, the contestants are appalled to see the battery levels drop twice because Sonali has used up 42% of the battery. Sonali, who is very happy post her tryst with the apps, shows no remorse and states that she got what she wanted. Dimpy and Diandra are seen getting their share of the apps while Praneet struggles to understand whether he should stand in favour of or against the contestants when his turn arrives.

As the day progresses, the battery level continues to fall soon leaving just about 11 % to be consumed by the pending housemates. Tension soars around the house as the members are now intrigued to know what is in store for them. After a struggle-filled and chaotic recharge, Gautam becomes the next person to get a chance to enter the Activity Room and get his turn with the apps. And what do you think could be waiting for him? Gautam jumps up from the seat when he gets an option to meet his beloved mother who has been missing incredibly. After getting an eyeful of his mother through a TV, Gautam cannot control his emotions and pleads Bigg Boss to give him the chance to with his mother. Bigg Boss then informs an overwhelmed Gautam that she is in fact in the confession room and he can go up to her anytime he wants…but in exchange of some precious battery life.

Not worried about the consequences, Gautam runs through the house and charges into the confession room while all the housemates look at him dumbstruck! Finding his mother sitting in the room in front of him makes Gautam freeze mid-step as he digests the fact that she is really there in front of him! Letting go of all his bottled up emotions, Gautam bursts into tears and hugs his mother while enjoying the sweet moment of reunion. While the housemates can only assume what is going on with Gautam, he engages in a long-overdue conversation with his mother who he is meeting for the first time since he entered the Bigg Boss house 9 long weeks ago. Gautam, in fact, even states that the gift of meeting his mother goes beyond every negative experience that he has had in the house till date.

Clearly the Bigg Boss house has the ability to give the contestants what they really want especially when they least expect it. With some many happy memories being built on Day 1 of the App Task, we cannot help but wonder what Day 2 will bring for the contestants. Whose wishes will be fulfilled and who will have to turn around empty handed?

I will be seen breaking doors like Daya in CID: Tanya Abrol

Sony TV’s most popular and long running show CID will soon witness a new entry. Shahrukh Khan starrer Chak De fame Tanya Abrol, has been roped to play a prominent role in the show.

According to our sources, “Tanya has been shortlisted to play a Jaywanti. She is as tough as Daya (Dayanand Shetty). Jaywanti is chatty, curious and will be seen exercising a hockey stick. She admires Daya and looks up to him.”

When contacted Tanya said, “Yes I am doing CID. I am playing a Marathi girl Jayawanti Shinde, who belongs to Haryana. It’s an amazing character, I will be breaking doors like Daya.”

Tanya already started shooting for the show and her entry is expected to telecast this week.

#BiggBoss8 Day 64 Synopsis: Dost dost na raha..

Relationships in the Bigg Boss house have seen their ups and downs. But in tonight’s episode of Bigg Boss, the extent to which relationships have been soured following Nigaar’s eviction will become completely clear. Even as Nigaar steps out of the house, the fight amongst contestants continues on as they all react strongly to what was said before host Salman Khan. Be it Ali for his brash behavior, or Diandra for her claims, every contestant finds themselves in the line of fire.

As a brand-new day rises, the air of uncertainty and upheavals bears heavily on the minds of the contestants. The feeling that their friends are talking about them and saying some not-so-pleasant things remains on the top of their minds. But as all the day progresses, the contestants learn to put that feeling behind them and charge on as a new week progresses in the Bigg Boss house.

As is norm, the day brings with itself the dreaded nominations. Twisting the story around a little, Bigg Boss asks contestants to step into the confession room and nominate one contestant that they would like to save from elimination. Most contestants, including Praneet, Ali, Sonali and Dimpy move away from what is expected from them in terms of their friendships and try to save those who they believe is the least manipulative. That some of the contestants are shocked by the results is an understatement. But the big twist came in when Bigg Boss asks captain Puneet to nominate the one contestant who he would like to nominate for eviction. While most expect Puneet to choose his least favourite contestant in the Bigg Boss house, i.e. Karishma, but Puneet changes the game by choosing someone else…someone he has called his friend!

The effect of nominations stays with the contestants all day long. Be it digesting the shock of nominations, or wondering who their real friends and enemies in the Bigg Boss house are, tonight’s episode will change the entire scenario. Taunts, fights, arguments mixed with some budding friendships and love, it is ultimately the friendships that are tested. But let us tell you one thing, the extent to which some relationships are worsening will be a shock for sure!

Nigaar Khan evicted from Bigg Boss 8..

This week Karishma Tanna, Dimpy Mahajan, Sonali Raut and Nigaar Khan were nominated for eviction. Yesterday, Salman Khan declared that Karishma and Dimpy are safe. Among Sonali & Nigaar it was Miss. Khan's time to end her voyage on Bigg Boss season 8.

Last week she entered in house of controversy with lot's of expectation, but unfortunately she got least number of votes this week. Nigaar's eviction comes as a shocker to everyone as her sister Gauahar Khan succeeded to win the last season of the same reality show.

In just one week Nigaar managed to be stay in limelight, thanks to her heated arguments with other contestants. However, this couldn't have helped her survive this week's eviction.
