Jaya Bhattacharya, who is currently seen in 'Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka'
never ceases to create awareness in the society. Despite her hectic
shooting schedule, the actress is contributing a lot of time to 'India
Green & Wild' a Citizens Movement, which was launched on 19th
January all over India.
Talking about the movement, the veteran actress, who was seen in the films like Sirf Tum, Fiza, Devdas, Lajja etc said, "The motto of this movement is to create environmental awareness. We are reaching out to the schools/colleges and trying our best to explain why protection and conservation of the environment, should be our priority."
As of now, they have done road-shows in over 50 cities and over 250 schools. Lucknow, being Jaya's birth place which was not able to participate in the Citizens Campaign on19th January will be participating in the event on coming Tuesday and Jaya will be a part of it to help spread the message of awareness at a larger scale. "It's high time, we should come ahead and take the responsibility to respect, care and protect the Mother Earth and its resources. As the integral part of 'India Green & Wild' movement, I am committed to help save our environment, air, water, and to help reverse climate change so that my country, it's countrymen and our civilization can survive. That's why I am making the personal effort to go to Lucknow on the 29th January. Between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, we will gather at 1090 Chauraha and walk on Lohia Path perform various activities to create awareness," Jaya said.
She further added, "Since we are also raising the awareness to reduce, reuse and recycle, that's why we do not use plastic during the campaign. All posters and banners are made from the reused materials."
