Newbie Karan Taneja will be making his TV debut with Gul Khan and Nilanjana Purkayasstha’s forthcoming show 'Dil To Happy Hai Ji'. We heard, the actor has been roped in to play Jasmin Bhasin's brother in the show.
According to our sources, "Karan is finalized to Happy Mehra's (Jasmin Bhasin) cousin Rupinder. He is innocent, suave, well educated guy, who values his family and love his sister to the core."
When contacted Karan confirmed the buzz. Shedding some light on his character in the show, the model-turned-actor stated, "Rupinder is a positive, polished and well-spoken guy. He is kind of an introvert when talking to someone he doesn't know, but when it comes to his family he is extrovert."
When quizzed what is the USP of the show, Karan said, "The genre is the USP of our show. I am sure, the show will make everyone smile." He further added, "Despite of all the troubles and hardships in her life, Happy chooses to smile away. The show will add another resolution to your bucket list, which is to find a reason to celebrate the life."
For those uninitiated, veteran actress Aruna Irani is playing a prominent role in the show and India’s Next Superstar fame Ansh Bagri is paired opposite Jasmin. The show is set to launch on 15th January and is going to replace ‘Mariam Khan – Reporting Live’.
