Bollywood actor Asif Basra was found hanging at his home in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. He was 53. The cause of the suicide is not yet known.
A forensic team has reached the spot to examine the cause of the death, the police said, adding an investigation into the matter has been initiated to find out whether it was death by suicide.
Reports say that actor Asif Basra had been living in a rented house in McLeodganj for the last 5 years. He also had a foreign girlfriend living with him.
The actor was best known for his critically acclaimed roles in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday and Rahul Dholakia's Parzania. He had also appeared in several other Bollywood movies including, Abhishek Kapoor-directed Kai Po Che, Jab We Met, Hichki, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Krrish 3, Ek Villain among others. aHe was recently seen in the popular thriller web series Paatal Lok.
