YJHD and Nautanki Saala success gives Evelyn Sharma a 'hottie boost'

When actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma made her foray into Bollywood a year ago, not many expected the newbie from Germany to make her mark in Indian films!

But the sexy babe improved her Hindi and bagged five films within a few months. Now, two of her movies Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, have emerged runaway hits.

What’s more! YJHD, where Evelyn was seen in the key role of a hottie alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is the biggest blockbuster of the year.

Last year, Bollywood saw Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Agneepath cross the 100 crore mark. But this year, that honour has belonged only to YJHD until now.

Reveling in the success, Evelyn has been receiving meatier and more glamourous offers for movies, endorsements and fashion events. “Brand Evelyn has managed a sort of balancing act between being an actress, model and a fashionista,” quips her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Her next release is Issaq with Prateik Babbar, followed by Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar. A super-packed year indeed!

What shall we say, but that luck, talent and success make an unbeatable combination. And Evelyn’s got it all neatly tucked in her kitty!

Momma's Gal Priyanka Chopra!!

From luxury cars to exclusive shoes and jewellery, apart from name and fame, Agneepath star Priyanka Chopra has it all.  She is ruling diktats in tinseltown, but she is still a momma’s gal when it comes to matters of the house. She has been followed of many on microblogging site twitter, but at home she has to follow bunch of dos and don'ts.

Piggy Chops drives a Porsche Cayenne (that falls in the Rs. 64 lakh to Rs. 1.46 crore price ranges), she also owns a BMW and a white Mercedes. The lady wants bigger and better car, she is on top and I am sure she had enough balance in bank accounts to purchase her new dream car.

When she expressed her desire to purchase a new car, her parents put a full stop to her dream.  Mommy put down a budget for it and warned her to stay within the limit.

Every time reigning queen Priyanka feels like buying something she first takes approval from her parents. Aww what a aagyakaari bitiya she is.. Don’t you think she is being so close knit with her family? Isn’t it cool?..

"Don't want to only do remakes": Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan is working in a remake for the first time, but the Bollywood heartthrob is determined not to continue with the genre post-"Agneepath". As far as comparison goes with the original, he is unperturbed.
"I don't want to do remakes only. My premise is that I should not do remakes. Earlier, I didn't even want to hear about it. Now at least I will hear it," Hrtihik told in an interview.

Filmmaker Karan Johar decided to give a makeover to his dad Yash Johar's 1990 production venture "Agneepath", in which Amitabh Bachchan gave one of his best performances as Vijay Deenanath Chahuhan and won a national award.

Karan roped in Hrihik to play the protagonist and with "Agneepath" ready to hit screens Jan 26, expectations are high and people are likely to compare Hrithik with Amitabh. But he is unruffled and believes that "if you do something in your own way, in your individual way, then it will stand out. People will not compare."
The 38-year-old's performance was critically acclaimed in films like "Jodhaa Akbar" and "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" and he even gave blockbusters like "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai", "Krrish" and "Dhoom 2".

Despite having such an impressive body of work, he says he can't "act".

He said: "My premise is that I can only act well if I am in that character. I have to know everything about my character. If I am not living it, then I can't act. If you ask me to imitate or act, I can't do it. Others can because they have that talent. I can't act, so I am bad actor."

The new age Vijay Deenanath Chahuhan says shooting for the climax, which is full of blood and gore, was the most difficult part of the movie, helmed by first-time director Karan Malhotra, a former assistant of Karan Johar.

"The climax was shot in Diu and throughout I had to fight with Sanjay Dutt with a bare and bleeding body and the shoot went on for 22 days. It ended up being the toughest schedule of my life," said Hrithik.

If the "Agneepath" promos are creating curiosity, the new villian in B-town - Sanjay Dutt - has grabbed the limelight with his scary look.

Sanjay's look has scared not just the audiences but Hrithik too.

"Once during the shoot Sanjay Dutt gave me such a harsh look that I was taken aback. I thought is this Sanjay Dutt? I was like what's happening," he said.

"In the beginning audiences would feel that it's impossible and Vijay is nothing. If it would have looked easy, then you would not enjoy the journey."

Hrithik was quite sceptical before signing the film, but the strong script convinced him to get on board.

"Karan Johar being a friend forced me and asked me to read the script. When I read the script I was shocked. As an actor it touched me. I was defenceless. I had no reason to say no," said the actor who has teamed up with Priyanka Chopra in the movie.

It’s great that Salman loves ‘Chikni Chameli’: Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif says dancing to the item song in Agneepath was a lot of hard work

Katrina Kaif is garnering a lot of praise for gyrating to item number Chikni Chameli in Karan Johar’s forthcoming film Agneepath, but the actor says the ‘lavni’ style dancing was not a cakewalk for her. “The response to Chikni Chameli has been fun so far. It was hard work. It was very fast and it was not a style I was used to, but I took it as a challenge…I think we all went for it as a team and did the best we could. I am happy people are liking it,” the 27-year-old actor said while launching new range of Panasonic air conditioners in Mumbai.

Even actor Salman Khan is smitten by the song and Katrina is happy about this. “He has not told that to me but I think that’s a great thing. He has a great taste in music and songs. So, if he likes it, then it’s great,” said Katrina who featured in two more item numbers in Sheila ki jawani and Bodyguard.

New Year is round the corner and Katrina is pleased with the way 2011 shaped up for her. “2011 has been a really great year for me. All the goals I had in hand, I think everything turned out really well. I am very grateful for that…The best I could have wanted to come out of every project has come true this year,” said Katrina who had two releases this year – Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Katrina has some plum projects in her kitty – she is working on Ek Tha Tiger with Salman, Dhoom:3 with Aamir Khan, and Yash Chopra’s untitled new venture featuring Shahrukh Khan.
