Is Shah Rukh Khan-luck rubbing off on Evelyn Sharma?
A week ago, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) actress Evelyn Sharma was taken aback to find two fans from Punjab waiting for autographs and selfies outside her Bandra abode. When she was preparing to leave for a shoot, they walked up to her and told her they had been coming there from two days and standing below her building for a couple of hours to get a peek of the actress.

Kushal Punjabi invited NGO kids on the sets of Jhalak..
One of the kid sang 'Ghagra' for Madhuri Dixit Nene from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and insisted her to dance with them. Dancing Diva could not stop herself from joining them. Later, she gracefully danced with them on her song 'Aaja Nachle..'

Screen scorcher Evelyn Sharma basks In Frost
So you thought one can only bask in the glory of the sun, eh? Think again!
This weekend, actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma is burning the web screens in a short fashion film called In Frost premiered on the Fashion TV website.
The three-minute slick-flick featuring vignettes of the screen scorcher is produced by Vatsal Mehta and directed and edited by Maul Gohel, who was chosen among 25 international fashion and advertising photographers to win top honours at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
It has Evelyn basking in morning light, wearing modish outfits from ace designer Nishka Lulla. The pretty gal moves like a dream while the sun rays and its hues penetrate her – striding with grace and confidence – as if burning with ambition under warmth of the rising sun.
The stillness of a foggy sky in the backdrop seems to take her into dreamy rewind mode with a beautiful sepia tone at times, giving a retro feel to the scenes, yet maintaining a contemporary pace for the film.
She is styled by Hasnain Patel with make-up by Shubhash Singh. A mesmerizing score by Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell titled Blurred Lines plays in the background.
Though the film is called In Frost – more than frosty, we find it piping hot. Watch it and judge for yourself.

Evelyn Sharma to match dance steps with Arshad Warsi
Evelyn Sharma seems to have all the luck by her side. From starting out as a fashionista and graduating to Bollywood success with super hits like Nautanki Saala! and the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD), she’s now turning a new leaf.
Evelyn Sharma secretly celebrates her 23rd birthday in pomp and style!
Evelyn has been signed by director Neeraj Pathak for Bhaiyyaji Superhit starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Arshad Warsi.
Pitted as the leading lady opposite Arshad, she plays a cute, sexy but traditional Indian girl. But what the actress is most excited about is matching dance steps with him!
Evelyn Sharma basks in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani glory!
Apart from being a powerhouse performer, Arshad is well-known for being a great dancer. And Evelyn feels this gives her a great chance to hone her dancing skills too. Nowadays, the gal is often spotted at a dance rehearsal hall in Andheri, Mumbai. We wonder if that has something to do with the challenge of dancing with Arshad.
Meanwhile, having bagged a role with various shades, comedy, songs, dance and all, Evelyn is glad to work with director Neeraj Pathak. “He spotted me in YJHD (in which she played Lara's character) and invited me to his office for a meeting. He compliments me for my talent and thinks I am a quick learner. I feel honoured with the praise.”
I don’t mind doing intimate scenes as long as my co-star is cute: Evelyn Sharma
And what does her hero Arshad think of her? “When I first shot with him in Jaipur, it was a scene where I was performing a puja in the house. And Arshad was quite amused by my Hindi accent,” she winks.

Evelyn Sharma loves her all natural figure!
An incorrect report on the web has taken the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani hottie Evelyn Sharma by total surprise.
"I don't know whether to laugh or cry foul," she quips!
An article on a site called Bollywood Gupshup has claimed that Evelyn has "gone under the knife to shape her body and looks." The piece written by one Gagan Deep Mishra, further states that her sensational act to appear topless on the cover of Krunch Today magazine "is well timed with her latest release Joker releasing this Friday."
"Anyone in his senses would know that Joker released last year and Evelyn was not part of it. The site seems to be lost in time as well as facts," points out Evelyn's publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
Moreover, he says the actress is totally against plastic surgery. "Her figure is all natural. In fact, she has often gone on record saying that her hot bod is God's gift and all she does is lots of hard work with commitment to maintain it."
"Maybe the writer Gagan needs to look Deep into the sky for creative inspiration or stop Joking," the publicist cheekily laughs it off.

Evelyn Sharma secretly celebrates her 23rd birthday in pomp and style!
High on the heels of superhits Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Nautanki Saala, actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma brought in her 23rd birthday with a lot of zest and zing at Bandra hotspot Polpo this week.
And though she celebrated in typical Bollywood pomp and style, surprisingly the event was kept a hush-hush affair from prying cameras. Even some paparazzi was cleverly misled while her party raged on till late night with flowing red wine and a Cinderella-engraved cake.
In attendance were personalities from the fashion, film and business circles. Some of the names we stumbled upon include actors Prateik Babbar, Nathalia Kaur, Izabelle Leite, Madhura Naik, business tycoon Ashish Raheja, ace designer Rocky S, Sonam and Paras Modi, producers Dhaval Gada of PEN and Vishal Gurnani of The Entertainment Hub, photographer Vikram Bawa, singer Aditi Singh Sharma and DJ Deepesh Sharma aka Mr Right.
Having returned from IIFA last week, Evelyn is now gearing up for her next two releases this year. While she has a role with Prateik Babbar in Issaq (Manish Tiwary’s Hindi remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet), the gal will also be seen playing an angelic dream girl in T-Series’ Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.
A rocking year indeed!

YJHD and Nautanki Saala success gives Evelyn Sharma a 'hottie boost'
When actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma made her foray into Bollywood a year ago, not many expected the newbie from Germany to make her mark in Indian films!
But the sexy babe improved her Hindi and bagged five films within a few months. Now, two of her movies Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, have emerged runaway hits.
What’s more! YJHD, where Evelyn was seen in the key role of a hottie alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is the biggest blockbuster of the year.
Last year, Bollywood saw Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Agneepath cross the 100 crore mark. But this year, that honour has belonged only to YJHD until now.
Reveling in the success, Evelyn has been receiving meatier and more glamourous offers for movies, endorsements and fashion events. “Brand Evelyn has managed a sort of balancing act between being an actress, model and a fashionista,” quips her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
Her next release is Issaq with Prateik Babbar, followed by Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar. A super-packed year indeed!
What shall we say, but that luck, talent and success make an unbeatable combination. And Evelyn’s got it all neatly tucked in her kitty!

My kids are still very innocent, completely untouched by glamour world : Madhuri Dixit
Dancing Diva
Madhuri Dixit is back on small screen with another season of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla
Jaa’. She is the reference point when it comes to dance. I was thrilled when I caught
up with the charismatic actress with a dazzling pearly smile. Excerpts of
interview:
What is new in
this season of Jhalak?
We have associated Jhalak with my online dance academy,
'Dance with Madhuri'. On Jhalak, we will teach seven steps in a week. You
can learn and upload the steps into my website. We will see it, if someone is good,
he/ she gets a reward. The better ones get to come on the show, while the
really good ones will get a chance to dance with me. So this time Jhalak is
not only for the celebrities but also for the aam janta.
Do you agree when
we say that post Madhuri-Era we haven’t seen dancer like you?
That’s your love..that’s your thought (laughs), but I
don't endorse it completely. Everybody has their own personality on screen.
When you see Priyanka dancing it’s different, she gets her own style. Be it
Katrina or any other actress. Everyone has different dancing style. So I think
you have to look in that way.
Nowadays who do
you think is the best dancer in Bollywood?
Hrithink Roshan, I love his dancing. Recently I danced
with Ranbir Kapoor, he also dances very well. The kind of energy he gets on
the floor is wonderful.
What about best
female dancer in Bollywood?
Katrina Kaif is good, I like Priyanka Chopra also. After
watching Band Baja And Baraat I thought Anushka Sharma dances very well.
Who is your
biggest critic?
I am big critic of myself. Whenever I see myself onscreen
I think maybe I could have done it even better.
At this stage of
your career, what is that one dance form that you want to learn?
I wanted to learn tap dancing and did a little bit of it
in Stardust awards; we added a few tap dancing elements. But when I see Gene
Kelly and Fred Astaire, I feel I should have learn this also.
Is there any
reality show that you watch?
I like American Idol. I like to watch that. I love the
singers who come on the show.
You have recorded
a song with your mom in ‘ Gulab Gang’. How did you convince
her?
It just happened. They wanted a voice for a particular
sequence, not a proper song. A couple of instruments play in the background and
they wanted to make it realistic, so when the director asked me, we would like
you to do it. I thought about it and agreed.
The artistic talent what I have is because of my mother.
She is interested in music. She had four children but still did MA in music.
She couldn't learn dance but made her daughters learn it. All those things we
have got from her. I tricked my mother
(laughs). I just told her to come along as I was recording. I quietly took her along and asked her ‘just
sing one line for me na mamma’. She agreed, after which I said 'Mom, you have
made your debut at 80!' (laughs).
How was it working
with Juhi Chawla in Gulaab Gang?
She is a very good actress herself and we have very nice
scenes together. Bahut mazaa aaya saath mein kaam karte hue..
You are doing
films, judging reality show and overseeing household work. How do you manage
you time?
Karna padta hai like any other working lady. I think
before making my schedules. You just have to be more organized..
How did your
children react when they saw you dance number Ghagra from ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai
Deewani’?
The first time they saw the song on TV, they came running
to me and said 'Mom, you are on TV'. They are still very innocent, completely
untouched by glamour world and don't understand it fully. But they were happy
that their mother is on TV.
What kind of films
you are looking forward to do.
I am looking forward for more challenging roles. Like right now I am doing Gulabi Gang. We finished
shooting for the movie, production work is on. I am also doing Dedh-Ishqiya.
You have lost
weight. Was that for a role in any film?
I have lost weight to keep myself healthy (laughs).
Secondly, I have to be seen on screen, and I have to be slim because the screen
adds a lot of weight. Thirdly, in our
profession, we have to look after ourself because I have to dance and be fit.
How do you keep
fit?
Eat very healthy. A workout is very important. don't
starve but I believe in a good balanced diet. I have five small meals in a day,
each meal after every three hours.

Deepika Padukone don't follow fashion trends blindly
Mumbai, May 17 (IANS) When it comes to fashion and style, Deepika Padukone puts the best foot forward. The model-turned-actress feels it is good to keep up with the times, but suggests fashion trends should not be followed blindly.
"Don't try and follow fashion blindly. Yes, of course, trends keep changing, fashion keeps changing and people believe that you should keep up with the times and I don't think that's a bad thing to do. But think at the same time, you should not forget your own personality, the person that you are, your body type, your confidence level and dress accordingly," said the actress while sharing fashion tips at an event.
"The worst thing that you can do to yourself is to be uncomfortable in something that you are wearing. That discomfort will always show in your body language and on your face," added the 27-year-old.
Deepika will next be seen in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", releasing May 31, along with Ranbir Kapoor.

I don’t mind doing intimate scenes as long as my co-star is cute: Evelyn Sharma
Suave and Sassy Evelyn Sharma became the talk of the tinsel town for
her oomph and prettiness after her debut in ‘From Sydney with Love’. This
gorgeous lady seems quite lucky because even before her first flick, she has
five big projects lined up in her kitty. We caught up with this super-talented
actress to know about her journey, future plans etc...
She was born and brought up in Germany.
Evelyn had a wonderful childhood. Remembering her childhood memory she shares,
“For the longest time I thought the
biryani my mother made was a German dish. The first time I came to India was
three years ago and it was then I started to discover my Indian roots (from my
father's side). I learned Hindi and caught the Bollywood fever!”
Immeasurably talented Evelyn is multi
linguistic; she knows eight languages including English, Hindi, French, Dutch,
Spanish, Thai, Russian and Tagalog of Philippines. She blinked her eyes and said, “I speak many languages so sometimes I get
perplexed with words. I try to converse with my eyes only.” We can bet that she really sounds cute while
speaking Hindi. She is currently working hard to get the right Hindi accent and
learning Hindi diction.
Evelyn never thought one day she would do
acting for a living. She started drama classes and theatre in high school. She instantly decided to become an actor when
she was asked to act in an English Movie at the age of 18. “My mother always said you are such an
actress because when I was little I used to be a bit of a drama queen. Some
people say I still am, but I like to differ,” she said while laughing.
She further added, “I did theatre in high school and shot for an English movie in college.
I always loved acting, but I never thought I could actually make it my
profession. I'm not from a filmy background; in fact I had no connection to the
movie industry than my TV or the cinema.”
Talking about the journey from Hollywood
to Bollywood, she said “It's been a
rollercoaster of ups and downs but I enjoy every minute of it. I love my
transition from model to actor and I just hope that the audience will have as
much fun seeing my performance as I had shooting for the movies.”
She is attracted by energy of Bollywood
movies. She loves the dance, drama and music of Indian cinema. She did lot of
TV commercials. She started out as a model in India, which caught the attention
of many directors and producers. “I
started to get invitees for auditions, but I didn't feel ready so I decided to
quit modelling and focus on learning Hindi and training in acting and dance.
For four months I did a course at Stella Aadler in Mumbai and learned all the
basics of film making and the responsibilities of an actor. I felt much more
motivated after this course and went through hundreds of auditions and bagged
my first role. God was very kind and I signed five projects in one year,”
says Evelyn with a smile.
Her next film Nautanki Saala starring
Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur is releasing on April 12th. Is she feeling butterflies tickling her stomach?
“I’m very excited because it's a full on
comedy and there was a lot of fun on and off screen. My role is also very
different from my other movies, which made it interesting to perform. I play an
Indian theatre actress who plays Sita in Ramayan. It was a wonderful experience,
“she said.
Like a perfectionist she did a lot of
research for her role. She ended up reading the whole story of Ramayan to
prepare herself for the role of Sita.
She is performing Madhuri Dixit's Dhak
Dhak in Nautanki Saala.”I consider it as
an honour to perform but a lot of hard work has been put at the same time. I
can't wait for you all to see this movie,” she said.
Her next film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ under
Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika
Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin is slated for release on 31st
May. “I am playing Lara. My role in this film is super sexy and girly. Lara always
makes sure there’s something pink in her outfit. She plays a bit of a ditz while she wraps the
boys around her finger. What more can you wish for than one year of flirting
with Ranbir?” she asked while talking about her role.
She further added, “We shot ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ for over a year and all of us have
become close. It was wonderful working with a great actor like Ranbir. It makes
shooting so easy to have experienced co-actors like Deepika and Kalki. I could
learn so much from them. I'm super happy Ayan (Mukherjee) took me for the role
of Lara.”
She has already started shooting for
Divya Kumar’s Yaariyan. She also has Manish Tewari's Issaq starring Prateik
Babbar in her kitty. In Yaariyan, she is playing a very spiritual foreign girl,
who comes to Banaras for peace and awakening.
Manish Tiwari’s 'Issaq' was the first
movie Evelyn had signed and shot. It’s a tough movie with a lot of violence, guns
and profanities. She is playing Rosa, Prateik’s first love, just like Rosalie
in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.
She has no reservations about doing
intimate scenes. Evelyn has some pretty bold scenes in Yaariyan and opening
shot is more of her sexy legs than her. She will be seen doing kissing scenes
and donning bikinis in the film. “I don’t mind doing intimate scenes as long
as my co-star is cute. Like Prateik in
Issaq, I didn’t mind kissing him at all,” she said.
"Fashion
is a way of expressing yourself, your mood and your personality to the world surrounding
you. Wear what you feel is right and don't care too much about what other
people think, “ states the actress who is flaunted as the newbie
fashionista of tinsel town. Miranda Kerr is one of her fashion icons. Evelyn
found her style super inspiring as she carries everything off with utmost ease.
Glam doll Evelyn said she feels like a
little princess every time she wears an amazing gown. “Most often you see me in Rocky S. His dresses are all glamorous with a
touch of rock and roll. His store has become my second walk-in-closet,”
confessed Evelyn.
Bubbly and charming actress has a mixed
feeling about clothes. When we asked how
important clothes are for her, she said, “Basically
I wear certain items like my favourite denim shorts for years and even when
they are ripped, they just start looking better to me. But then I also love to
wear new stuff. And I go completely crazy when I get into shopping mood.
Sometimes for the pleasure of my girlfriends because I can only wear certain
dresses once for events and then I give them to my besties. There's no point in
having a gorgeous dress hanging in your closet when it would look way better on
my friend.”
Dainty actress states that her personal
wardrobe is very feminine and comfortable, “I
like oversize tops with leggings, cute colours, long skirts and floral prints.
I think it’s a very positive and happy wardrobe.”
Her closet is full of clothes yet she has
nothing to wear, every day she faces this situation. She laughed and said, “I don't know what it is with us girls
sitting in huge closets crying our eyes out that we have nothing to wear. It's
a big mystery.”
Evelyn is shopaholic, so we asked her
what she sees in attire when she goes for shopping. She started rolling her
eyes the moment she heard the word Shopping. Smiling with excitement she said,
“Cute, unusual colours catch my eye immediately.”
She affirmed that right now she is obsessed
with cropped tops. “I could pick up every
single one. My mother always wonders why these little tops cost the same as a
normal top when they're only half the size,” she laughed.
She like accessories which are
meaningful, like gifts from friends or family, a nice bracelet from one of her
travels or anything vintage which speaks a story.
She is one of those few who have been
blessed with beautiful skin. She swears on natural products and don't put any
chemicals onto her skin. “I drink fresh
juices every morning, use a coconut enriched moisturiser for soft hydrated skin
and after a long day of shooting I give my hair at least 20 mins of hot oil,
“says Evelyn.
She does not wear heavy makeup daily, and
gives her skin break from makeup during days offs. She quipped, “I just put a good sun screen and a little
bit of mascara and blush for a fresh look.”
While winding up the interview
breathtakingly beautiful lady left a sweet message for Scrutiny readers, “’Love God and love your neighbour’ is the
law by which I live every day. If you think about it, it's the easiest law to
follow and brings so much good into your life and the life of others. I think
it wouldn't harm if we all practiced it a little more every day.”
