'I am a woman and have cleavage' says Deepika Padukone

Finding Fanny actress Deepika Padukone lashed out at India’s leading newspaper website over a story on her 'cleavage show'. The website published a news with a picture of Deepika taken from an awkward angle. Padukone posted a screenshot of the offending photo which was captioned in the 'news' story as "OMG: Deepika Padukone's cleavage show".

Irate Deepika on Sunday took to micro-blogging site Twitter and posted, "@deepikapadukone: Supposedly India's 'LEADING' newspaper and this is 'NEWS'!!??"

Later she posted,"@deepikapadukone: YES!I am a Woman.I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem!!??"

The actresses further wrote, "@deepikapadukone Dont talk about Woman's Empowerment when YOU don't know how to RESPECT Women!"

Instead of aplogising for their cheap tactics, the news publication tweeted: “It’s a compliment! You look so great that we want to make sure everyone knew! :,” they tweeted.

However later deleted the tweet which has a link of story which got furious and also took down the story as well, after criticism mounted on Twitter and various social media platforms against the offensive story. The video was from 2013 when Deepika Padukone's Chennai Express was due to release. To dig out something this old for garnering attention is not very ethical.

Bollywood's numero uno actress instantly found support from many quartets across the microblogging site, with Bollywood colleagues and fans rushing to condemn the photograph and accompanying article.

Ranveer Singh tweeted: @RanveerOfficial : @deepikapadukone way to let 'em know! #LikeABoss @TOIEntertain TUM se yeh ummeed nahi thi #SMH #owned

Dia Mirza @deespeak: Thank you @deepikapadukone #RESPECT

Saqib Saleem @Saqibsaleem: Its a shame that this is what we do in the name of journalism.. More power to you @deepikapadukone ..

Sonali Raut unhappy about preceding Chitrangada Singh

The versatile hottie Sonali Raut (of The Xpose fame) got quite a surprise when she found out that she beat another beauty Chitrangada Singh in the recent Celebex poll, charting the up and coming celebrities of 2014.

The newbie debuted the polls at Number 35, just after hot and happening names like Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.

But what bothered Sonali is that she beat Chitrangada, who came at Number 44. “I really like Chitrandaga and I also know that a lot of men swoon over her. I wish I was placed after her in the poll,” she remarked.

Now now! That’s a first for a gal in any cat race. But Sonali’s goodwill doesn’t there! She has a word of praise for some other more contemporary names like Shraddha Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal, Nargis Fakhri, Ileana Dcruz, Jacqueline Fernandez, Tamanna Bhatia, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon who preceded her in the poll.

They are all making an impacting presence with some spectacular movies. I felt privileged to be placed amongst them too,” quipped Sonali. Guess many would want to learn humbleness from this gorgeous new-age girl.

Curious case of missing dead chicken from Deepika Padukone's hand

Recently the first poster of Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor starrer 'Finding Fanny' was released. The first glimpse looks innovative and unique, yet it left us confused.

Padukone who is playing the role of Angie was seen in frilly outfit with a blood drenched chopper in one hand and a dead chicken in the other. However, in her first look, the same picture shows the chicken missing from her hand. Also in the trailer, you can see Ram Leela girl walking with a dead chicken in hand and a cleaver in the other. This left us baffled.

The pretty girl shared both versions of picture on her micro-blogging site. Nevertheless, no body noticed the missing chicken.

It seems the poor chicken has been edited out in the first look to avoid the ire of animal activists. However, sources close to the production house said that it was a creative call to edit out the chicken from Deepika’s hand.

Deepika Padukone don't follow fashion trends blindly

Mumbai, May 17 (IANS) When it comes to fashion and style, Deepika Padukone puts the best foot forward. The model-turned-actress feels it is good to keep up with the times, but suggests fashion trends should not be followed blindly.

"Don't try and follow fashion blindly. Yes, of course, trends keep changing, fashion keeps changing and people believe that you should keep up with the times and I don't think that's a bad thing to do. But think at the same time, you should not forget your own personality, the person that you are, your body type, your confidence level and dress accordingly," said the actress while sharing fashion tips at an event.

"The worst thing that you can do to yourself is to be uncomfortable in something that you are wearing. That discomfort will always show in your body language and on your face," added the 27-year-old.

Deepika will next be seen in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", releasing May 31, along with Ranbir Kapoor.

I don’t mind doing intimate scenes as long as my co-star is cute: Evelyn Sharma

Suave and Sassy Evelyn Sharma became the talk of the tinsel town for her oomph and prettiness after her debut in ‘From Sydney with Love’. This gorgeous lady seems quite lucky because even before her first flick, she has five big projects lined up in her kitty. We caught up with this super-talented actress to know about her journey, future plans etc...

She was born and brought up in Germany. Evelyn had a wonderful childhood. Remembering her childhood memory she shares, “For the longest time I thought the biryani my mother made was a German dish. The first time I came to India was three years ago and it was then I started to discover my Indian roots (from my father's side). I learned Hindi and caught the Bollywood fever!”

Immeasurably talented Evelyn is multi linguistic; she knows eight languages including English, Hindi, French, Dutch, Spanish, Thai, Russian and Tagalog of Philippines.  She blinked her eyes and said, “I speak many languages so sometimes I get perplexed with words. I try to converse with my eyes only.   We can bet that she really sounds cute while speaking Hindi. She is currently working hard to get the right Hindi accent and learning Hindi diction.

Evelyn never thought one day she would do acting for a living. She started drama classes and theatre in high school.  She instantly decided to become an actor when she was asked to act in an English Movie at the age of 18. “My mother always said you are such an actress because when I was little I used to be a bit of a drama queen. Some people say I still am, but I like to differ,” she said while laughing.

She further added, “I did theatre in high school and shot for an English movie in college. I always loved acting, but I never thought I could actually make it my profession. I'm not from a filmy background; in fact I had no connection to the movie industry than my TV or the cinema.”

Talking about the journey from Hollywood to Bollywood, she said “It's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs but I enjoy every minute of it. I love my transition from model to actor and I just hope that the audience will have as much fun seeing my performance as I had shooting for the movies.”

She is attracted by energy of Bollywood movies. She loves the dance, drama and music of Indian cinema. She did lot of TV commercials. She started out as a model in India, which caught the attention of many directors and producers. “I started to get invitees for auditions, but I didn't feel ready so I decided to quit modelling and focus on learning Hindi and training in acting and dance. For four months I did a course at Stella Aadler in Mumbai and learned all the basics of film making and the responsibilities of an actor. I felt much more motivated after this course and went through hundreds of auditions and bagged my first role. God was very kind and I signed five projects in one year,” says Evelyn with a smile.

Her next film Nautanki Saala starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur is releasing on April 12th.  Is she feeling butterflies tickling her stomach? “I’m very excited because it's a full on comedy and there was a lot of fun on and off screen. My role is also very different from my other movies, which made it interesting to perform. I play an Indian theatre actress who plays Sita in Ramayan. It was a wonderful experience, “she said.

Like a perfectionist she did a lot of research for her role. She ended up reading the whole story of Ramayan to prepare herself for the role of Sita.
She is performing Madhuri Dixit's Dhak Dhak in Nautanki Saala.”I consider it as an honour to perform but a lot of hard work has been put at the same time. I can't wait for you all to see this movie,” she said.

Her next film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin is slated for release on 31st May.  I am playing Lara. My role in this film is super sexy and girly. Lara always makes sure there’s something pink in her outfit.  She plays a bit of a ditz while she wraps the boys around her finger. What more can you wish for than one year of flirting with Ranbir?” she asked while talking about her role.

She further added, “We shot ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ for over a year and all of us have become close. It was wonderful working with a great actor like Ranbir. It makes shooting so easy to have experienced co-actors like Deepika and Kalki. I could learn so much from them. I'm super happy Ayan (Mukherjee) took me for the role of Lara.”

She has already started shooting for Divya Kumar’s Yaariyan. She also has Manish Tewari's Issaq starring Prateik Babbar in her kitty. In Yaariyan, she is playing a very spiritual foreign girl, who comes to Banaras for peace and awakening.

Manish Tiwari’s 'Issaq' was the first movie Evelyn had signed and shot. It’s a tough movie with a lot of violence, guns and profanities. She is playing Rosa, Prateik’s first love, just like Rosalie in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.

She has no reservations about doing intimate scenes. Evelyn has some pretty bold scenes in Yaariyan and opening shot is more of her sexy legs than her. She will be seen doing kissing scenes and donning bikinis in the film.  “I don’t mind doing intimate scenes as long as my co-star is cute.  Like Prateik in Issaq, I didn’t mind kissing him at all,” she said.

"Fashion is a way of expressing yourself, your mood and your personality to the world surrounding you. Wear what you feel is right and don't care too much about what other people think, “ states the actress who is flaunted as the newbie fashionista of tinsel town. Miranda Kerr is one of her fashion icons. Evelyn found her style super inspiring as she carries everything off with utmost ease.

Glam doll Evelyn said she feels like a little princess every time she wears an amazing gown. “Most often you see me in Rocky S. His dresses are all glamorous with a touch of rock and roll. His store has become my second walk-in-closet,” confessed Evelyn.

Bubbly and charming actress has a mixed feeling about clothes.  When we asked how important clothes are for her, she said, “Basically I wear certain items like my favourite denim shorts for years and even when they are ripped, they just start looking better to me. But then I also love to wear new stuff. And I go completely crazy when I get into shopping mood. Sometimes for the pleasure of my girlfriends because I can only wear certain dresses once for events and then I give them to my besties. There's no point in having a gorgeous dress hanging in your closet when it would look way better on my friend.”

Dainty actress states that her personal wardrobe is very feminine and comfortable, “I like oversize tops with leggings, cute colours, long skirts and floral prints. I think it’s a very positive and happy wardrobe.”

Her closet is full of clothes yet she has nothing to wear, every day she faces this situation. She laughed and said, “I don't know what it is with us girls sitting in huge closets crying our eyes out that we have nothing to wear. It's a big mystery.”

Evelyn is shopaholic, so we asked her what she sees in attire when she goes for shopping. She started rolling her eyes the moment she heard the word Shopping. Smiling with excitement she said, “Cute, unusual colours catch my eye immediately.

She affirmed that right now she is obsessed with cropped tops. “I could pick up every single one. My mother always wonders why these little tops cost the same as a normal top when they're only half the size,” she laughed.

She like accessories which are meaningful, like gifts from friends or family, a nice bracelet from one of her travels or anything vintage which speaks a story.

She is one of those few who have been blessed with beautiful skin. She swears on natural products and don't put any chemicals onto her skin. “I drink fresh juices every morning, use a coconut enriched moisturiser for soft hydrated skin and after a long day of shooting I give my hair at least 20 mins of hot oil, “says Evelyn.

She does not wear heavy makeup daily, and gives her skin break from makeup during days offs. She quipped, “I just put a good sun screen and a little bit of mascara and blush for a fresh look.”

While winding up the interview breathtakingly beautiful lady left a sweet message for Scrutiny readers, “’Love God and love your neighbour’ is the law by which I live every day. If you think about it, it's the easiest law to follow and brings so much good into your life and the life of others. I think it wouldn't harm if we all practiced it a little more every day.

Not sure if I'll dance with Madhuri: Ranbir Kapoor

Mumbai, Feb 26 (IANS) Just like everyone else, Bollywood's 'rockstar' Ranbir Kapoor is unsure if he will be shaking a leg with dancing diva Madhuri Dixit in his upcoming film "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani". However, he is keeping his fingers crossed.

A good dancer himself, the 30-year-old proved his skills in songs like "Bachna ae haseeno" and "Main tera dhadkan teri" and it would be a treat for his fans to watch him matching steps with Madhuri.

"Yes, even I have heard about it but nothing is confirmed yet. But I am really looking forward if I can work with Madhuriji," he said here Monday while launching the latest handset by Blackberry.

"I have been a big fan of hers, big admirer. I remember when she got married, I also cried. So, it would be great fun working with her. But I don't know whether they have confirmed it yet," he added.

"Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani", which is being directed by Ayan Mukherjee, will see Ranbir romancing his ex-flame Deepika Padukone when it hits screens May 31.

He says he is proud to see Deepika doing so well in her career.

"It's always great to see someone whom you have been so close to reach where she has because of her hard work, resilience, vision and intelligence. I am very proud of everything she has achieved," said Ranbir.

Kangna-Deepika comparisons hound newcomer Bidita Bag!

Having modeled for many successful brands and campaigns, spunk-chick Bidita Bag, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut this week with the comedy From Sydney With Love, is in a quandary.

The reason: This Bong beauty is continuously being compared to more established heroines namely Kangna Ranaut and Deepika Padukone. In fact, she has been getting a lot of film offers that have gone to Kangna earlier.

“It’s amusing how some filmmakers have been thinking of me as some kind of replacement to Kangna Ranaut,” she happily giggles. “I’ve been offered at least half-a-dozen movies by makers who say I fit the bill for a ‘Kangana-type-of-role’ – whatever that means!”

As if this isn’t enough, some makers tell Bidita, she looks and even sounds like Deepika Padukone; so much so that if she would dub for Deepika, no one might come to know – another comparison that the debutante has to live with, at least for now.

And while the girl takes these links with a pinch of salt, Bidita does assert that she wishes to “carve a completely original identity” for herself, even if she agrees to a Deepika or Kangna-kind-of-role. Lol. Looking at her performance in the promos of From Sydney With Love, we do believe that the actress is versatile.

For the record, her movie’s release will clash with none other than Jism 2; the debut vehicle of international porn sensation Sunny Leone. But Bidita smiles and shrugs it off. “I don’t fear Sunny Leone. Apart from my looks and acting capabilities, I have inner beauty,” she remarks with confidence.

When compared to the mass appeal Sunny’s cleavage carries, Bidita reacts, “A little bit of concealing is any day more erotic than showing everything, isn’t it?”

Evelyn Sharma to star with Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapur

The half-Indian half-German Evelyn Sharma, who made news as Bollywood's latest fashionista sometime ago, seems to be emerging the first foreigner after Katrina Kaif to get a good grip on Bollywood.

The newbie hasn’t even completed a year in the industry yet, but has just tucked her fifth film in her over-flowing kitty this week. Evelyn will now also be seen playing a lead with Vicky Donor star Ayushmann Khurrana, Delhi Belly fame Kunal Roy Kapur and newcomer Pooja Salvi in Rohan Sippy’s next!

When Sippy offered Evelyn “a beautiful role” with her friend and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani co-star Kunal Roy Kapur; she did not hesitate a bit and jumped on board with enthusiasm.

“Having shot for four movies, my acting and especially my Hindi diction, have improved a lot,” quips the girl, who inspite of her half-foreign origins, dubs for herself.

Evelyn will be seen making her debut with a funky role in the comedy From Sydney With Love releasing in the first week of August. Directed by veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty’s grandson Prateek Chakravorty, the film’s songs and promos have already gained good popularity with the youth.

The girl is also working hard towards her first full-length lead in T-Series’ next tentatively titled Class of 2013. She plays a glamorous dream girl in the movie, which happens to be the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s enterprising wife Divya Khosla Kumar.

That apart, Evelyn plays a very spiritual girl opposite Prateik Babbar in Issaq and a sexy ditz in Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani; the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions.

Bollywood newbie Evelyn Sharma is the new fashionista!

We’ve seen an ‘event’ful week with promotional jigs for Bol Bachchan, Cocktail and Barfi along with restaurant and magazine launches. But while known names like Priyanka Chopra, Nargis Fakhri, Sophie Choudry, Ileana D’Cruz, Jiah Khan, Shriya Saran and Shazahn Padamsee vied for attention, one name that shined naturally bright was Bollywood newbie Evelyn Sharma.

No wonder, fashion hotspace Style Me India has chosen this half-Indian half-German model-turned-actress among ‘the best dressed celebs’ who sashayed at parties last week.

A thoughtful choice indeed; considering Evelyn not only turned heads at various fashion and corporate events, but also shared the stage with the ladies man Akshay Kumar at the music launch of her debut film From Sydney With Love (FSWL).

Shaking up the fashion world off late, Evelyn stole the show when she wore a stunning pink dress with an adorable hairdo at the Blackberry Prosche event, followed by a gorgeous black KhushiZ gown at the FSWL music launch; fabulously matching up to Akshay Kumar’s black suit.

To add to this, the beauty was spotted rocking the fashionista styles with a very graphic Nishhk (Nishka Lulla) skirt, paired with a sexy ruffled blouse at the Nokia App Tasting event in Tote.

And as if all this hi-glam show wasn’t enough, the stunner blew more minds away at the launch event of the Ellipsis restaurant hosted by designer Arjun Khanna. Donning a simple FCUK red dress with cherry red lips, Evelyn turned out to be one of the few to dare the 1920s theme of the party!

Apart from a funky role in FSWL directed by veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty’s grandson Prateek Chakravorty, Evelyn Sharma plays a very spiritual girl opposite Prateik Babbar in Issaq, a glamorous dream girl in T-Series’ next tentatively titled Class of 2013, and a sexy ditz in Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani; the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions.

Imran Khan was the first choice for 'Cocktail'

Director Homi Adajania says Imran Khan was his first choice for romantic comedy "Cocktail", which has Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and model Diana Penty.

"Saif was not the first choice. Imran was supposed to do it but he was not sure if he wanted to do it at that point of a time," Adajania told IANS.

Being produced by Saif's Illuminati Films, the film will come out July 13.

"As Saif is the producer, he was going through the scripts, he read it and loved it. So, it worked out pretty well and that is how he came on board," he said.

Adajania debuted as a director with dark film "Being Cyrus" and it had Saif in the lead role. Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani too featured in it.

For "Cocktail" too the director has roped in Dimple-Boman to play prominent roles.

Explaining their presence in the cast, he said: "Dimple and Boman are also there in the film and it is not like they were in 'Being Cyrus' so are part of this film as well. It is not a matter of familiarity but using talented actors who fit the bill."
