I've seen many people disrespect Bappa by using POP idols or disposing of them in a disgraceful manner. I've also witnessed people deeply moved, whispering their wishes into HIS large ears as they bid him farewell. Some even tie his favourite modak to his hand.

But the sweetest thing I saw was a decade ago when a nearly 100-year-old lady with a hearing problem unintentionally whispered loudly to Bappa, "Come to me in a dream once you’ve reached home. The water is a bit cold, so I’ve kept some medicine along with the modak, in case you catch a cold. okay?"
