Lucknow Central team celebrates Independence Day at Yerwada Jail

The team of Lucknow Central, Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Ravi Kishan, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq chose to celebrate the 70th year of Independence in a tad bit different style this year. How, you may ask?

Yerwada Jail which has housed several convicts now opened its doors to the team of Lucknow Central. In the presence of 4000 inmates at the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune, the team was welcomed with a warm round of applause from the inmates and the police officers.

Sony Entertainment's iconic game show Kaun Banega Crorepati is all set to wrap up soon. According to our sources, KBC will go off air in November second week.

Rashmi Sharma's show Tum Aise Hi Rehna and Shashi Sumeet Mittal's Muh Boli Shadi is expected to replace the game show, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Also, Balaji Telefilms' Itna Naa Karo Mujhe Pyaar is in pipeline, so might be this Rohit Roy and Pallavi Kulkarni starrer show might fill the vacuum created by Kaun Banega Crorepati.

For those uninitiated, Zalak Desai and Fahad Ali are playing the lead roles in 'Muh Boli Shadi' and Tum Aise Hi Rehna stars Kinshuk Mahajan and Shefali Sharma.

Ekta Kapoor, better known as the queen of daily soaps is planning to produce another mature love story after Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. We heard, TV czarina approached Sakshi Tanwar and Ronit Roy for her next show, which is tentatively titled 'Itna Na Karo Mujhe Pyaar'.

When contacted, Sakshi asked us to call later.

Ronit said, "Everything is in initial stage. I can't confirm anything beyond this."

When Ronit Roy ordered formal footwear for all the unit hands of Adaalat

Ronit Roy, who is currently seen as lawyer KD Pathak in Sony TV’s Adaalat, again proved that he has a heart of gold. Recently, he bought formal shoes for all the unit hands, who couldn’t afford it.

According to our sources, “Ronit noticed that most of unit hands in rubber chappals, so he told them they can’t come to work so formally dressed. He later came to know, some of unit members are wearing rubber slippers because they couldn’t afford formal shoes. So, Ronit decided to buy shoes for all of them.”

After this all that we can say, this highest paid television actor certainly has a heart match his bank balance.

Well there is good news for the fans of Adaalat, instead of two times the show would now be telecast three times in a week.

TV actors work in unimaginable conditions: Ronit Roy

Mumbai, June 4 (IANS) The shockingly sudden death of television actor Abir Goswami of a heart attack has raised the perennial issue of unearthly hours and dreadful work conditions afforded to television actors.

Ronit Roy, who has been working in the television industry for over 15 years and has now phased out into big-screen acting, says the arduous hours and deplorable work conditions provided on the sets of television serials are potentially dangerous for the health of the cast and crew.

"The conditions under which TV actors work are unimaginable," said Ronit who has been part of TV shows such as "Kasautii Zindagii Kay".

"We have to work almost non-stop for 14-16 hours in the most unhygienic conditions. I was once shooting for my serial 'Adaalat' on a set erected right next to a garbage dump...day and night! By evening the whole place would be stinking with garbage. I shudder to think what diseases that filth must have carried on to our sets," he added.

Ronit finally got the set removed from the garbage dump. But when it comes to the food provided, the actor had to concede defeat.

"Luckily they listened to me about removing the set from near the garbage dump. But many times I am helpless. The food provided during television shootings is most of the time unpalatable. And there's nothing that can be done about it," said the actor.

This shocking truth about the quality of food on television shootings, Ronit discovered by chance.
He said: "I never touch the food on the television sets. I get 'ghar ka dabba' that my wife sends no matter where I am shooting. But most actors can't take home-cooked food with them."

"I remember we were shooting for this long-running serial for one of the biggest production houses. The crew and cast came to me to complain about the food. I tasted the food. It was absolutely unpalatable. Not fit for human consumption. I complained to the production company's head about the food. For five days the food improved, then the quality went back to being what it used to be," said the 47-year-old.

Abir, seen in shows like "Kkusum" and "Pyaar Ka Dard Hai", passed away Friday.

Ronit admits television actors work under conditions of tremendous health hazards.

"I don't know if Abir Goswami could have lived longer if he worked under better conditions. But we certainly don't guarantee even basic amenities, forget about luxuries for television actors. I am glad I've cut down on television. It would have surely taken a toll on my health," said Ronit, who impressed with his performance in "Udaan".

Abir too was gravitating towards the big screen.

"Abir was my co-star in 'Ugly'. A talented actor. We had also done television together. He had a very bright future as an actor. I rushed to his home after the tragedy. It's hard to believe Abir is gone. We had recently completed 'Ugly' where he played an ACP," said Ronit.

"I believe he suffered from a heart condition. My advice to fellow-actors on television: please insist on getting basic amenities and decent food on the sets during those long hours that television demands," he added.

Middle aged actors that will make you drool!..

They are ‘not-so-old’ we can say they are ‘middle-aged’ men, but still they are dashing and handsome and there debonairness is enhancing day by day.  Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Monish Bahl, Anoop Soni, Dayanand Shetty, Ayub Khan and Sameer Soni are a few actors who are in there 40’s and still ruling on television.

RAM KAPOOR
He played Jai Walia in ‘Kasamh Se’ and now plays Ram Kapoor in ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’. Well we can’t call him hot, but still has the ability to be charismatic which draws the audience towards him. A techno-geek and a self-confessed chain smoker who love cars, gadgets managed to win zillions of hearts by portraying pot-bellied, thick fingered romantic husband with a prominent ear and nostril hair.

RONIT ROY
He is one of television’s highly paid actors and is called Big B of small screen.  He put everything into the role; and it's just a pleasure to watch him on screen. Currently he is playing character of a lawyer KD Pathak on Sony TV’s Adaalat.

DAYANAND SHETTY
DAYA is massive door breaker, criminals don’t have a choice when he slaps them with his dhai kilo ka haath.  He looks like a tough man but he has a soft heart and is one of the most macho guy on idiot box.

ANOOP SONI
Anoop is synonymous to humbleness. He has been part of films like ‘Fiza’, ‘Gangaajal’, ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’, ‘Apaharan and ‘Sheen’, now he is absorbed on small screen. He not only proved his mettle in ‘Balika Vadhu’, and is loved for his hosting skills in popular crime based show ‘Crime Patrol’, which is TRP grosser for Sony TV. 

AYUB KHAN
He became overnight star after Mashooq(his debut film), later he tried but was not able to made a mark in Bollywood. He made his comeback on Television with ‘Rakhi - Ek Atoot Rishte Ki Dor’ and is currently seen in Uttaran. He still looks dashing and suave.

SAMEER SONI
He is humble, sweet, well cultured man. After ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, he came back on small screen with the most controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss. He was yet again successful in winning the heart of audiences. After Bigg Boss he was bombarded with offers, but Parichay caught his attention. The show wasn't an instant hit but gradually picking up the pace. Sameer's acting skills along with dedication towards the work are appreciated and getting applause from the audience.

MOHNISH BEHL
Audience cried foul when the news about of Mohnish bidding adieu to ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ came out. In a short span of time his performance made a place in everyone's heart for Dr. Ashutosh. He's one of the industry's most amiable actor.

"Tears trigger TRP" : Aasiya Kazi

Aasiya kazi is well known as Santo became house hold name after super success of her debut show Bandini. Bandini was produced by Balaji Telefilms. When Bandini gone off air, its protagonist Aasiya Kazi was bombarded with lots of offer, but she decided to play an obssessed wife in Hema Malini's Maati Ki Banno on Colors. The 20-year-old girl chats up with Enlighten India’s Media Manager K Himaanshu Shukla.

“Bandini happened suddenly, I went for audition. Ekta saw the audition, she liked me and selected me to play Santo. I was extremely nervous but super excited at the same time. Nervous Because I was a new bie in this industry and Bandini was my first show, I was unaware how television works. I used to get goose bumps, knowing how lucky I am because I will share screen space with Ronit da(Ronit Roy). I didn’t have any formal training in acting; I got trained while doing the show.

Ronit da, Rasika ji and the directors were quite supportive. I am blessed to be able to work with senior people at the very beginning of my career. Whenever I have a problem I take help from them, they make me understand how to act, how to carry myself in front of camera. They taught me how to cry and how to laugh on screen.”

When I asked how she managed to cry so much on screen, she laughed and replied by saying that “If you are playing female lead in the daily soap then you have to cry. Lead ki kismat me rona hi likha hota hai, muskuraane ka mauka to kabhi kabhi hi milta hai. The viewers of daily soaps are chiefly women, remote is under their control and nothing touches them better than tears. I guess tears trigger TRPs.

In real life I don’t like rona or rulana. I love to live life happily. I feel more happy when the people surrounded me are happy. I like to play pranks so that I can make them happy.”

Bandini was a huge hit, Aasiya’s chemistry with Ronit Roy has been appreciated. Ekta Kapoor once said that “In spite of huge age difference Aasiya and Ronit look so good as a couple, they make a good eye-candy”. Ekta’s words came true, Aasiya and Ronit are still remembered as one of the best onscreen jodi. After Bandini went off air, loyal fans started demanding for the show to comeback with season two.

Aasiya reacts on this and said, “From people around me and from the networking sites I get messages that they want season two. Bandini ran for 2 years and 1 month, whole cast and crew is truly like one big joint family. I hope Bandini come back with season two. If not then I wish I get opportunity to work with the same people. I still miss Bandini, even my display picture on my blackberry and on my networking profile are from Bandini. The show is special to be, before Bandini I was part of crowd, people rush past me, pushed me. But after Bandini I am recognized in the crowd, people turn around and look at me. I feel overwhelmed when our fans cal us ROSIYA(Ronit+aAsiya) or SANRAJ(Santo+Dharamraj). People give us love, appreciation in return of our hard work in Bandini.”

When asked why she put behind the sacrificing nature that was in the blood of Santo and did a negative character in Matti Ki Banno, she replied “After Bandini went off air I got offer from 2-3 reality shows but I couldn’t go for it as I already signed Matti Ki Banno. I got offer from one reality show which I wanted to do desperately, may be next year I will try to do that show. I also wanted to do dance reality show, I think I can dance also. I was a dance student of Shiamak Davar; and have completed my course. I am ready to play with worms and perform deadly stunts. By portraying Saudamini in Matti Ki Banno, I learnt to perform stunts. It was not a negative character, but yes it has some negative shades. Saudamini was madly in love with her husband Vikram, it was completely obsessed type character. She forces her husband to love her.”

Aasiya neither resemble Santo nor Saudamini, Aasiya is short tempered and talkative, she can’t keep quiet for more time where as Santo is very quite. The sweet looking actor is exactly opposite of Saudamini, and believes we can't force someone to love you. “You should understand your partner & vice-versa. If by hook or by crook you get the love from someone then it will very soon vanish. Love means sacrifice not forcing anybody to love you. Saudamini set rules in relationship and I don’t. I deem that understanding is much more required in a relationship,” she quips.

She got an offer to do Bandini when she was in class 11th. She used to take books on the sets, initially she managed to I get time to study and act, but then she quits her studies after 12th as it’s not possible to manage study and acting at the same time due to hectic schedule. As now Matti Ki Banno is over, the actor is planning to wait for some time. If she gets an offer for another show then she will do it, else she will continue her studies.

The actor said marriage is not on the cards, she want to concentrate on her career. “I want to prove myself as an actor then I will think about marriage. I wish I get a new show soon and continue entertaining my fans like I did in Bandini and Matti Ki Banno.”
