After making fleeting appearances in films like 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Fashion' and 'Luck By Chance', Karan Johar is making his full-fledged acting debut with Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet'. Film also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma and Karan is playing a editor of a newspaper and his character has grey shades.

Now it seems, Johar who is better known as the King of candy floss emotions, is taking acting career seriously. We heard he might be seen in Vikas Bahl's upcoming film 'Shaandar' starring Alia Bhatt & Shahid Kapoor.

According to our sources, "Shahid is playing a wedding planner in the film. Karan will be seen playing a father, whose son is getting married and Shahid will organize the wedding."

Govind is expected to play Karan's in-law in the film.

Despite of our repeated attempts KJo remained unavailable for comment.

"So many people are asking the same question. I am not doing Bigg Boss & the makers of the show have not even approached me," Alok Nath quipped.

She was not so keen to attend the award function, but somehow the channel persuaded her to come.

RJ Malishka Mendonca to enter Jhalak as wild card along with Debina Bonnerjee?

As we reported earlier, Colors' celebrity dance reality show will soon witness entry of Debina Bonnerjee as 1st wild card. A little birdie also whispered to us that RJ Malishka Mendonca will also enter along with Debina.

Malishka is well known radio jockey at Red FM in Mumbai and was last seen in Zee TV's reality show 'Connected Hum Tum'.

Recently, we saw the shocking replacement of gorgeous diva Drashti Dhami from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7.  Now, the dancing reality show is all set to bring some new dancing stars to set the stage on fire with the wild card entry..

Debina Bonnerjee, who is best known for portraying Sita in Ramayan will be making a wild card entry in the show.  The actress is currently playing role of Mayuri in Chidiya Ghar, who is smitten by dance bug and always seen dancing in the show.

When contacted Debina, whose husband Gurmeet Choudhary won 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5' said, "I am not doing the show."

Last week VJ Andy bid adieu to the stage of the seventh season of popular dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. Now we heard Bollywood actor Purab Kohli, who was paired with choreographer Mohena became the second participant to be evicted.

Last week Kohli performed salsa on 'Tattad Tattad'. Inspite of getting 33 points out of 40, he is evicted based on the voting of the audience.

Aakanksha Singh, who rose to fame with Colors popular show 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha' is all set to shine again on small screen. If everything goes well, she will be seen playing the main lead in Deeya and Tony Singh's DJ Production's upcoming show on Sony Entertainment's new channel Sony Pal.

According to our reliable sources, "The gal-next-door has been finalized to play the protagonist in DJ's Production house upcoming show. She will be seen as the mother of two kids."

When contacted, Aakanksha refused to divulge any details, "Nothing is confirmed. I have not yet signed the contract."

Stunning Diva of small screen Drashti Dhami, who is currently seen in Madhubala & hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa shocked her fans by her recent tweet.

The vivacious actress posted on her microblogging site that her journey on the popular dance reality show on Colors' has come to an end.

Geet Hui Sabse Parayi fame actress also thanked her fans for their support along the way.

She was a hosting Jhalak along with actor Ranveer Shorey.

Please don't have a lot of expectations from me as a host: Drashti Dhami 

Fans are quite upset after Drashti's tweet as they are still reeling under the shock of her Madhubala coming to an end on 12th July 2014.

We heard anchor actor Manish Paul, who hosted the previous season with Kapil Sharma is expected to replace Dhami. When contacted he said, “I have been approached, but I have not yet taken the final call."

TAM Ratings Week 24: Colors bounces back to No. 3

After a two-week hiatus, Colors has bounced back to the No. 3 slot in the week ended 14 June, 2014.

From the past two weeks, Life OK had been ahead of Colors and is at 3rd position on TAM chart.

This week Colors has also reduced the gap with No. 2 channel Zee TV, as per TAM data for the Hindi-speaking markets.

Colors and SAB TV were the only two channels to gain viewership in the week.

Randeep Hooda to play Dawood's brother-in-law in Apoorva Lakhia's film?

Film director Apoorva Lakhia, who is well known for directing Shootout at Lokhandwala is making film on Gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar, who is well known as Nagpada's own queen of the underworld.

Film scripting is over and casting is under process. It will be a woman-centric film and is titled 'Haseena'.

While everyone is speculating who will play the role of 'Haseena Apa' & Dawood in the film, a little birdie from the industry spilled the beans. We heard, drool-worthy Randeep Hooda might be seen playing Dawood's brother-in-law Ibrahim Ismail Parkar.

Ibrahim was a tall, well-built man from the Konkani-Muslim community, and Randeep fits the bill completely.

The dashing hunk has given his nod to the project, however hasn't yet signed the contract.

For those uninitiated, Ibrahim got married to Dawood's sister Haseena. Tragedy struck in 1992 when Ibrahim was shot dead by Arun Gawli's shooter, Shailesh Haldankar near J.J. Hospital. After that Haseena entered the criminal world.

Actress Bipasha Basu, who is a part of Sajid Khan's upcoming film Humshakals, is missing from the promotions. This was widely speculated. But now the gossip mongers can finally relax, because the Bong babe took to Twitter to clarify her stance.

“This is to put an end to all the discussions around my absence for Humshakals promotions. I take full responsibility of getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I`m extremely disturbed by the end result of the same. In these circumstances I didn`t know how to promote a film with all honesty and that`s why I thought it was better to stay away. I am confident that the film will be true to it`s genre and will be a full entertainer because of the people involved. I wish fox star studios who I have had my biggest hit with Raaz 3 and vashu ji who is a fantastic producer all the best. Wish all my co stars Saif, Riteish, Tamannah, Esha and the technicians best of luck. Sometimes, certain journeys cannot be completed and this is one of them - no one to be blamed, combination of things that made me disrupt my journey,”  the actor wrote on her micro-blogging site.

Bips further tweeted that,"Movies are our life.They are made by efforts of lots of ppl!I can never be against a film!As an actor ur role can disappoint u at times."

Starring Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor (in triple roles), southern sex siren Tamannaah, dusky Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta is scheduled to release this Friday (20 June, 2014).
