It’s been a little over a year since COLORS changed the face of Indian television with its path-breaking show, 24. And now, the riveting 24 hours in the life of Jai Singh Rathod which set the country pulsating in its first season is all set to make a comeback on popular demand on Viacom18’s second general entertainment channel Rishtey. The viewers will once again be a  part of ATU Chief Jai Singh aka Anil Kapoor’s  journey  as he  races against time to save Prime Ministerial candidate Aditya Singhania (Neil Bhoopalam) from assassination in this enthralling espionage drama, that redefined  Indian television through its slick narrative. The show will air every Monday to Saturday at 9.00 PM on Rishtey.

King of candy floss romance 'Shah Rukh Khan' will be the first guest in 'The Anupam Kher's Show-Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. In the first episode of the show King Khan will be seen spilling the beans over his life experiences.

Why Anupam invited SRK for the first episode? To which the veteran actor promptly replied, "Shah Rukh Khan's rise from being a TV actor in Fauji to becoming the second richest actor in the world is one of the most inspirational stories."

Anupam Kher is scared of Alzheimer!!

Anupam have been in the industry for about 3 decades and worked with SRK in many films like Pardes, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge etc, but while shooting for the show he got to know that Shahrukh Khan's real name is Abdul Rehman.

The 59 years old actor told us an incident which Shahrukh Khan shared while shooting for Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.

"Shahrukh is well known for his signature pose of standing with his arms open wide. I was literally surprised when he said, he has a fear that somebody will cut his arms. I genuinely asked him, are you serious? To which he replied yes," Kher said.

The episode will be aired on coming Sunday (06 July,2014) and everyone is waiting for the much awaited conversation.

Anupam Kher is scared of Alzheimer!!

Actor Anupam Kher is all set to shine again on small screen with 12-episode series of 'The Anupam Kher Show - Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. The show is slated to air on Colors from July 6,2014. During the press meet, the veteran actor said he has a fear of losing memory.

When we asked him, what do you fear the most? The veteran actor affirmed, "Yaad daast ke chale jaane ka ka darr hai. I'm scared of Alzheimer."

And what is the reason behind this fear? To which this talented actor said, "My film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara talks about Alzheimer's disease. While shooting for the film, I did research on this disease. After that, whenever I forgot something, mujhe lagta hai kitaab mein likha tha it's a symptom of Alzheimer."

He further added, "I think losing your memory is the biggest tragedy, that's why I am afraid."

Mumbai, May 21, 2014: COLORS today announced the launch of a new show entitled The Anupam Kher Show – Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai featuring versatile actor Anupam Kher as its host. The show will highlight the most inspirational stories of revered Bollywood celebrities which speak about the challenges and testing times that they have experienced before winnings accolades and achieving success. The show also marks Anupam Kher’s first foray into television production and is slated to commence shoot by end of May 2014.

Anupam Kher out, Vinod Khanna to play Jaya Bachchan's husband in Vasundhara?

We reported earlier that Veteran actor Anupam Kher is approached to play Jaya Bachchan's husband in tentatively titled show Vasundhara on Sony TV. Now we heard, actor Vinod Khanna, who earlier acted in Smriti Irani's show 'Mere Apne' is approached to play the role.

Earlier, Farooque Sheikh was finalized to play the role of Jaya's husband, but due to his untimely demise Anupam was approached. The channel tried their best to cast Kher, but unfortunately the deal did not work because of monetary issues.

Later they approached Vinod, as Jaya is very keen to cast once-upon-a-time-on-screen-arch-rival of Amitabh Bachchan. Vinod has already given the green signal and might sign the dotted line soon.

Varun Badola is finalized to play the eldest son and Urvashi Dholakia will be playing his wife. Vishal Singh will essay the role of middle son and Bandini fame Aasiya kazi is roped to play his wife.

Nandish Sandhu was almost finalized to play the role of boyfriend of Jaya Bachchan’s daughter. But now the actor has been shown the door and replaced by another TV actor.

For those uninitiated, the show will be produced under Jaya Bachchan's banner is based on the Gujarati novel Yog Viyog (written by Kajal Oza Vaidya).

As we already informed Urvashi Dholakia & Vishal Singh have been finalized to play eldest bahu and middle son in Jaya Bachchan's small screen debut show. Anupam Kher is approached to play jaya's husband. Now we heard Varun Badola, who was last seen in Zee TV's popular show Phir Subah Hogi has been roped in to play the elder son. Varun has been paired opposite Urvashi.

For those uninitiated, the show is tentatively titled Vasundhara is based on the Gujarati novel Yog Viyog (written by Kajal Oza Vaidya).

We tried to contact Varun, but he remained unavailable for comments.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher is approached to play Jaya Bachchan's husband in tentatively titled show Vasundhara on Sony TV. The show, will be produced under Jaya Bachchan's banner is based on the Gujarati novel Yog Viyog (written by Kajal Oza Vaidya).

According to our reliable sources, "Late Farooque Sheikh was supposed to play Jaya's husband, but due to his untimely demise Kher was approached."

The source further added , "Talented actor Naseeruddin Shah was also approached, but he politely declined the offer as right now he is not keen in doing a TV show."

For those uninitiated, Jaya shared screen space with Anupam in 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag'.

Anupam Kher remained unavailable to comment.

India premiere of 'Silver Linings Playbook' cancelled

The much-vaunted Grand Indian Premiere of the worldwide hit David O Russell's Silver Linings Playbook (SLP) where our own Anupam Kher stars alongside the formidable Robert de Niro has been cancelled. Unceremoniously.

Apparently, the premiere's Indian sponsors decided to back out at the last minute since SLP, a worldwide blockbuster expected to garner several Oscars next week, is not seen to be of much interest to Indian audiences.

A source informs, "If you notice American films never get a premiere, grand or otherwise, even if they star an Indian actor. It was different with Ang Lee's Life Of Pi and Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children, which were properly premiered in Mumbai because they were deeply connected to India and Indian culture. But Silver Linings Playbook is a film on the American suburbia, and therefore of as much curious interest to Indian audiences as other Oscar nominees like Argo and Lincoln. And so what if Anupam Kher plays a major role in the film?"

The other reason why SLP didn't finally merit an Indian premiere was the competition offered to the film.

Says the source, "Die Hard 5 is releasing on the same day as SLP in Mumbai. That's bad strategy. More so because SLP was released in America and other parts of the world many weeks ago and its pirated DVDs are easily available in India whereas Die Hard 5 is just a week-old worldwide."

Whatever the logistics being proffered about the premiere cancellation, the fact remains Anupam was looking forward to playing the Indian host at a premiere in Mumbai. He had even invited his new friend Robert de Niro to be at the premiere and he intended to show his short film I Went Shopping For Robert de Niro to de Niro during the 'premiere' visit.

Now one hears that Anupam is flying out of Mumbai to Los Angeles when SLP releases in Mumbai, to show de Niro the film.

Says Anupam, "Yes, I am off to LA on Thursday night. I will be showing my film to de Niro. But I am going mainly for the Oscars."

When asked about the cancelled Mumbai premiere of SLP Anupam admitted candidly, "Yes, the premiere is not happening for various reasons that I don't want to go into. Though Silver Linings Playbook is a worldwide blockbuster, it is not a popular franchise like Mission Impossible or James Bond. More than that, I am not at liberty to say."

Kya Super Kool Hain Hum actor’s Tusshar Kapoor uploaded his “HOT” dare bare pic on microblogging site. Instead of raising the temperature, this pic is causing humilation to Tusshar and will probably turn into a nightmare.

Tusshar plays a struggling actor in "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum". To impress his lady love Neha Sharma he proudly flauted his butt and did a spoof on John Abraham. John's butt became a talk in town after he was seen emerging out from water flashing his well toned butt in Karan Johar's Dostana.

What’s going wrong with Movers and Shakers?

Movers and Shakers on Sony Entertainment Television used to be the most talked-about stand up comedy show a few years ago. But its latest avatar on Sab TV doesn’t seem to be catching on with the glory.

That, inspite of bagging celebrity guests like Anupam Kher, Govinda, Isha Khoppikar, Kader Khan, Mahi Gill, Mika Singh, Nupur Mehta, Om Puri, Sameera Reddy, Saroj Khan, Satish Kaushik, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Sonu Sood, Sukhwinder Singh, Pakistani starlet Veena Malik and the Indian hockey team!

So what’s going wrong with M&S this time? The look, feel, format and suave host Shekhar Suman’s trademark wit is almost at par with the earlier edition. But the jokes, gags and punches are contributed by a different team now, apart from the show having a new director Shashant Shah, who also directed the touching film Dasvidaniya and the successful TV series The Great Indian Comedy Show.

The show’s earlier creative director Abhigyan Jha has moved on to direct his own show Jay Hind on the internet, followed by The Late Night Show on Colors with Sumeet Raghavan; the same host of Jay Hind.

Many feel that the similar formats of Movers and Shakers, Jay Hind and The Late Night Show have divided the viewership and diluted the M&S brand loyalty. Moreover, Shekhar’s favourite mimicry characters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Laloo Prasad Yadav, are more or less absent now, as they are no longer viewed as frontrunners in Indian politics.

Also missing from the team is Dale Bhagwagar, now the Bollywood PR guru, who used to be Shekhar Suman’s personal publicist as well as the media manager of M&S for quite some time during its first innings. The public relations specialist is often credited for branding Shekhar as the First Superstar of Indian Television in the media.
