Promising to be a visual treat and every fantasy lover’s delight, Chandrakanta will showcase an epic power struggle between two rival Aiyaar kingdoms, Vijaygarh and Suryagarh. Putting the spotlight on the conflicting yet fervid relationship between princess Chandrakanta (Madhurima Tuli) and prince Veer (Vishal Aditya Singh), the show is laden with myths, legends and magic. Chandrakanta narrates the tale of Vijaygarh’s lost princess who lost her family and kingdom to a power war waged by Naugarh’s evil Queen Iravati (Urvashi Dholakia). While many believed the family to be wiped out, an infant Chandrakanta was found in a river by a simple and loving aiyaar fishing couple in Suryagarh. Her true identity lost in the war, Chandrakanta grows up to be a strong warrior-like woman, whose focus and strong determination are unparalleled. But, her real journey starts when she crosses paths with Queen Iravati’s son, Prince Veerendra Singh, who finds himself enamored by Chandrakanta’s entrancing beauty and falls hopelessly in love with her when he comes to battle Suryagarh’s Prince Shivdutt (c).

Spread across a sprawling 32,000 square feet, Chandrakanta’s sets, designed by National Award winning Art Director Chandravadan More, highlight regality and opulence of the magical realms. Three distinct zones, Queen Iravati’s darbar in Vijaygarh, Prince Shivdutt’s darbar in Suryagarh, and Chandrakanta’s foster parents’ fisherman’s shack, have been authentically created to form the perfect setting for Chandrakanta and Veerendra’s love saga. Urvashi Dholakia, who will be soon seen in yet another power packed role in Ekta Kapoor's Chandrakanta affirmed that she has a great respect for all the mother's not just today but everyday. "As a child, we wake up every morning and get to work and start our day. But Mothers wake up and pray. They pray for our joyous life, they pray so that we can remain strong. If they sense any trouble coming at us, they cut it like a knife. We as children need to understand that she will 'always' be holding our hand," says Urvashi.

Urvashi Dholakia, who played the iconic role of Komolika Basu in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' will be playing an antagonist in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show Chandrakanta. She is playing a fearless, ambitious queen Iravati in the show, and is required to ride a horse. To get into the skin of the character, she went the extra mile and underwent extensive training in horse riding.

Urvashi Dholakia, who played the iconic role of Komolika Basu in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' was recently subjected to body shaming. The pretty actress, met her friend and out of no context, he told her that she looked beautiful, but she needed to lose some weight. Miffed by this incident Urvashi vented out her emotions on social networking sites. She wrote, "I hate the thought of size zero. I love myself just the way I am! Be it healthy or healthier."

On Halloween Day, we caught up with a few actors and asked them what would they do if they become vampire for one day?

Giaa Manek, who beautifully portrayed the character of docile Gopi Bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya and mysterious Jeannie in Jeannie Aur Juju   said, “If I would become a vampire for a day I would like to suck blood of all the people who tried to suck me for their own benefit in a wrong way.”

Urvashi Dholakia, one of Indian television's most famous vamps and Bigg Boss 5 winner said, "Why to become Vampire for just one day? If I get an opportunity I would want to spend my whole life as a Vampire. I will live years and years. Generations will go by me and I will stay beautiful forever. Vampires are good looking and intriguing and I will become immortal like them."

Aaradhan Uppal, who is currently seen as a strict principle in Baal Veer said, “I would suck Sunil ‘Gutthi’ Grover's blood and inculcate his awesome acting skills, suck on Salman's blood and become more compassionate at being human and I would suck on our honourable prime minister Narendra Modi to bring great changes in India.”

“If I become vampire then I would suck the blood out of all the mosquitoes, it’s time to get my blood back,"said Vatsal Sheth, who is currently seen in Ek Haseena Thi.

Panchi Bora, who was seen in shows like Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, Kahin To Hoga & Kayamath said, "I will be like angel in disguise, soulless but protecting pious souls."

Pavitra Rishta and Ekk Nayi Pehchaan fame Karan Sharma quipped, “I will bite all corrupt politicians, who did scams and saved black money in Swiss bank.”

“I would go to all those people, who have troubled me in my life and compel them to become peace loving. Instead of fighting & create issues I would woke them to become friends and we would go ahead, grow and improve together in life rather than fighting,” says Harshith Arora who is currently seen as Ayaan in P.S I Hate You.

His co-star Chandni Bhagwanani said, “You know in our show, there is this bizarrest urban legends floating around Harshith’s character Ayaan from cannibalism to being a vampire.  If I become vampire for one day, than I will go and bite Ayaan and actually make him a real vampire.”

“I am a few people on my hit list, I will go feast on their blood,” affirmed Ankita Bhargava, who was last seen in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan.

Upen Patel is playing the good game and Gautam Gulati is very entertaining, says Urvashi Dholakia

Urvashi Dholakia better known as Komalika of Kasautii Zindagii Ki will face the camera after quite some time. She is seen making guest appearances in Balaji Telefilms Pavitra Rishta. 

Ankita Lokhande starrer show, which ran over for more than 1400 episodes will finally breathe its last on the coming 25th. Small screen czarina Ekta Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to make the finale episode a gala affair. So she approached her lucky mascot Urvashi to do a small cameo along with Iqbal Khan and Karan Grover.


Urvashi is facing camera after a long time. After she won Bigg Boss-6 Urvashi was did a comedy show Nautanki. Her last fictional show was Dil ‘Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava’.  So how she is feeling facing camera after so many years? “I am shooting almost after 1 and a half year and it feels great. It’s like home coming for me because Ekta is like a family.”


When asked why she is missing from the small screen? Urvashi said, “I am waiting for the right and challenging role, be it negative or positive. I am open to do any type of role.”

What do you think about the vamps today? They usually have a comic touch. “Frankly speaking, I do not watch any television shows except Bigg Boss, so I cannot comment anything.”


Who is your favourite contestant in Bigg Boss 8? “No one as such, I think everybody is playing their own game very nicely. Upen Patel is playing the good game and Gautam Gulati is very entertaining. Gautam is the only one in the house who is giving entertainment.”

Anupam Kher out, Vinod Khanna to play Jaya Bachchan's husband in Vasundhara?

We reported earlier that Veteran actor Anupam Kher is approached to play Jaya Bachchan's husband in tentatively titled show Vasundhara on Sony TV. Now we heard, actor Vinod Khanna, who earlier acted in Smriti Irani's show 'Mere Apne' is approached to play the role.

Earlier, Farooque Sheikh was finalized to play the role of Jaya's husband, but due to his untimely demise Anupam was approached. The channel tried their best to cast Kher, but unfortunately the deal did not work because of monetary issues.

Later they approached Vinod, as Jaya is very keen to cast once-upon-a-time-on-screen-arch-rival of Amitabh Bachchan. Vinod has already given the green signal and might sign the dotted line soon.

Varun Badola is finalized to play the eldest son and Urvashi Dholakia will be playing his wife. Vishal Singh will essay the role of middle son and Bandini fame Aasiya kazi is roped to play his wife.

Nandish Sandhu was almost finalized to play the role of boyfriend of Jaya Bachchan’s daughter. But now the actor has been shown the door and replaced by another TV actor.

For those uninitiated, the show will be produced under Jaya Bachchan's banner is based on the Gujarati novel Yog Viyog (written by Kajal Oza Vaidya).

As we already informed Urvashi Dholakia & Vishal Singh have been finalized to play eldest bahu and middle son in Jaya Bachchan's small screen debut show. Anupam Kher is approached to play jaya's husband. Now we heard Varun Badola, who was last seen in Zee TV's popular show Phir Subah Hogi has been roped in to play the elder son. Varun has been paired opposite Urvashi.

For those uninitiated, the show is tentatively titled Vasundhara is based on the Gujarati novel Yog Viyog (written by Kajal Oza Vaidya).

We tried to contact Varun, but he remained unavailable for comments.

Urvashi Dholakia wins Bigg Boss Season 6

Mumbai, January 12th, 2013: Successfully completing her stay of 98 days inside the Bigg Boss house, Urvashi Dholakia has been declared as the winner of the biggest reality show, Vodafone presents Bigg Boss Season 6. Bringing an alag season this year, COLORS has presented its viewers with unlimited entertainment and daily dose of drama. Locking up different personalities in the house for over a period of three months, the show has presented viewers with various shades of their favourite celebrities. Surviving the toughest challenges that changed her personal chemistry with the co-contestants to earning the audience’s love, the no-nonsense and woman in control, Urvashi Dholakia has emerged victorious and walked away with the grand prize of Rs. 50 lacs and Bigg Boss Season 6 trophy. Giving Urvashi a tough run were Imam Siddique, who emerged as the first runner up and Sana Khan as the second runner up.

Urvashi’s journey in the show was no easy task. Living away from her sons for 3 months, Urvashi has proved it to the world that she is a tough single mother. Sampat Pal added her bit by putting up an act on women empowerment that left one and all thinking about the issues faced by a lot of women in the country. Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua danced to a hip hop number while Sapna entered in an all new Indian avatar with her trademark dialogue ‘Ullu banaya, bada mazza aaya’. Vishal and Karishma were seen dancing together inside the swimming pool on a sizzling romantic number. Neha Dhupia and Tushaar Kapoor added to the fun by giving a sneak peek into the hilarious gags that will be seen on their upcoming comedy show – ‘Nautanki – The Comedy Theatre’. Bigg Boss 6 Contestants List!

Colors most controversial show Bigg Boss 6 is set to roll today (October 7, 2012) at 9 pm prime time, with megastar Salman Khan as the host once again. And while the BB fever hots up, the final list of contestants is being speculated.

The names doing the rounds include comedian Vrajesh Hirjee, separated couple Rajev Paul and Delnaz Irani, starlet Urvashi Dholakia ( Komolika in Kasauti Zindagii Kay), Sayantani Ghosh (last seen as Ichcha Dhari Nagin in Zee TV's 'Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyien') and Aashka Goradia, Bhojpuri actor-singer Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’, UP women vigilantes group Gulabi Gang’s founder-leader Sampat Devi Pal, model Sana Khan('Yeh-Toh-Bada-Toying-Hai' act in an underwear commercial), hairdresser Sapana Bhavnani, Raymond model Niketan Madhok, Kingfisher model Karishma Kotak, controversial cartoonist Aseem Trivedi, cricketing whiz Navjot Singh Sidhu and martial arts expert Kashif Qureshi (the ‘common man’ who is said to have done thousands of daring stunt shows in the country and abroad).

We heard these people have already entered in the house.

When Scrutiny asked Bollywood publicist Dale Bhagwagar about these names, he smiled and quipped, “It would not be right to comment on the confirmed participants before the show rolls, but I have a feeling you have the perfect list.”

Dale is hailed by the media as a specialist on matters about Bigg Boss, for having handled the maximum celebrities on it from time to time. If he says so, the list has to be accurate.

Part of Dale’s controversial BB repertoire includes names like Shilpa Shetty, Rakhi Sawant, Sambhavna Seth, Kashmera Shah, Sherlyn Chopra, Diana Hayden, Shamita Shetty, Pooja Misrra, Vindu Dara Singh, Ashmit Patel, Zulfi Syed, Salil Ankola and Amar Upadhyay.

The PR guru feels, this year, the tilt might be towards light entertainment. “One can easily expect more comedy, song, dance, fun, poetry, emotional upheavals and celebrity patch-ups,” he guesses, though completely ruling out an absence of controversies.

Dale is currently also the publicist and spokesperson to the self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda, speculated to participate on Bigg Boss 6 as a guest, although the publicist refuses to confirm or deny the Swami’s appearance on the show.

Meanwhile, Bhangra-pop sensation Daler Mehndi, who happens to be another earlier client of the public relations specialist, is scheduled to perform at the BB6 launch, before this year’s contestants enter the famed Bigg Boss House. Even the versatile Rani Mukerji is scheduled to participate for the promotions of Aiyya.

Cezanne Khan & Neha Marda declined Bigg Boss 6?

So many names like Kiran Janjani, Nityanand Swami, Arjun Bijlani, Aashka Goradia, Urvashi Dholakia, Bhojpuri star Nirahuwa, Vrijesh Hirjee, Aman Verma, Karanvir Bohra and Nupur Mehta etc speculated for the Bigg Boss season 6.

There are a few actors who were offered by they declined the show, two such names are Neha Marda and Cezanne Khan.

Cezanne Khan, who shot fame by playing Anurag Basu in ‘Kasautti Zindagii Kay’said, “Endemol approached me for Bigg Boss but I declined the offer as I am not interested in doing reality shows.” (Well..we heard he was very keen in participating in the show. May be he lied because he has signed a non disclosure agreement)

Balika Vadhu’s Genha, Neha Marda also confirmed that she was approached but she turned down the offer as she doesn’t want to become part of controversies.
