TAM RATINGS: TVM(TRP) & GVT(GRP) Ratings 2014- Week 27

It was a ‘no different’ week, since none of the general entertainment channels (GECs) saw a change in their ranking. In the week 27 of TAM TV ratings, Star Plus and Zee TV emerged out as the clear winners.

Star Plus crossed the 700 million mark yet again and stood at 704 million GVTs, up from 660 million GVTs.  Zee TV garnered 479 million GVTs, up from 423 million GVTs, it scored last week.

Despite a drop, Life OK continues its successful run at number three with 348 million GVTs, down from 358 million GVTs. Colors witnessed a huge drop in its viewership and recorded 320 million GVTs, down from 351 million GVTs.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at number five scored 288 million GVTs, down from 349 million GVTs.  Sab maintains its sixth position as it registered 276 million GVTs, down from 280 million GVTs.

Yesterday we reported that Sarswatichandra fame Gautam Rode has been roped to play male lead in Life OK's upcoming show. However, the hunt for the female lead is still on.

Now we heard, versatile actress Seema Biswas, who well known for playing the role of Bandit Queen is shortlisted to play a meaty role in the show which is currently titled 'Mahakhumb', which is produced by Arvind Babbal

Curious case of missing dead chicken from Deepika Padukone's hand

Recently the first poster of Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor starrer 'Finding Fanny' was released. The first glimpse looks innovative and unique, yet it left us confused.

Padukone who is playing the role of Angie was seen in frilly outfit with a blood drenched chopper in one hand and a dead chicken in the other. However, in her first look, the same picture shows the chicken missing from her hand. Also in the trailer, you can see Ram Leela girl walking with a dead chicken in hand and a cleaver in the other. This left us baffled.

The pretty girl shared both versions of picture on her micro-blogging site. Nevertheless, no body noticed the missing chicken. 

It seems the poor chicken has been edited out in the first look to avoid the ire of animal activists. However, sources close to the production house said that it was a creative call to edit out the chicken from Deepika’s hand.

Gautam Rode roped in for Life Ok's next? quits Sarswatichandra?

Gautam Rode, who is currently seen in Star Plus show 'Saraswatichandra' has been approached to play lead role in Life Ok's next.

According to our sources, "Rode has already put down his papers and will be soon quitting Saraswatichandra. The dasting actor has been roped to play male protagonist in Life Ok's show 'Mahakumbh', which is a story about a kid with a supernatural powers."

As an actress Jennifer Winget is very cooperative : Gautam Rode

The show will produced by Arvind Babbal, who initially directed a few episodes of Saraswatichandra.

Gautam remained unavailable for comments.

Ever since the first promo of COLORS’ upcoming fiction offering hit airwaves, audience anticipation has been at an all-time high to get a glimpse into the lives the Shastri Sisters! COLORS today announced the launch date and time slot for the show. Shastri Sisters will be going on-air starting 21st July, 2014 and will air every Monday to Saturday at 7.00 PM on the channel.

Shastri Sisters traces the journey of four sisters as they move from Kanpur to Delhi along with their father. The story speaks of the challenges faced by them on being uprooted from their childhood homes and their support for each other through life’s hardship and struggles.

On the show, Neha Pednekar will be essaying the role of the oldest sister Alka, Ishita Ganguly will be seen portraying the character of second sister Anushka, Sonal Vengurlekar will portray the role of the third sister Devyani, whereas Pragati Chourasiya will be essaying the character of the youngest sister Peeya.

Shastri Sisters is produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms of Na Aana Iss Desh Laado fame.

Certain section of media recently reported that Rashmi Sharma's show 'Saath Nibhana Saatiya' might wrap up soon. However the Devoleena Bhattacharjee better known as Gopi denied the rumours.

“Every now and then we hear these kind of rumours. Let me clarify our show is not going off-air,”  affirmed the bong girl.

King of candy floss romance 'Shah Rukh Khan' will be the first guest in 'The Anupam Kher's Show-Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. In the first episode of the show King Khan will be seen spilling the beans over his life experiences.

Why Anupam invited SRK for the first episode? To which the veteran actor promptly replied, "Shah Rukh Khan's rise from being a TV actor in Fauji to becoming the second richest actor in the world is one of the most inspirational stories."

Anupam Kher is scared of Alzheimer!!

Anupam have been in the industry for about 3 decades and worked with SRK in many films like Pardes, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge etc, but while shooting for the show he got to know that Shahrukh Khan's real name is Abdul Rehman.

COLORS launches- 'The Anupam Kher Show - Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'

The 59 years old actor told us an incident which Shahrukh Khan shared while shooting for Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.

"Shahrukh is well known for his signature pose of standing with his arms open wide. I was literally surprised when he said, he has a fear that somebody will cut his arms. I genuinely asked him, are you serious? To which he replied yes," Kher said.

The episode will be aired on coming Sunday (06 July,2014) and everyone is waiting for the much awaited conversation.

TAM RATINGS Week 26, 2014 : Life OK back to number three

There is no looking back, believes Life OK general manager Ajit Thakur. In the week 26 of TAM TV ratings, the channel has hit a jackpot again. It overtook Colors and secured the third position by registering 358,113 GVTs, up from last week’s 332,990 GVTs.

So what worked for Life OK, this time? It is its fictional properties which saw a rise in the ratings. Thus, Gustakh Dil noted 2,184 TVTs, up from 1,829 TVTs, Adventures of Hatim recorded 2,116 TVTs, up from 1,825 TVTs. Savdhaan India registered 2,595 TVTs, up from 2,264 TVTs.

On the other hand, Colors at number four scored 351,407 GVTs, down from 351,470 GVTs. It has been a roller coaster ride for the channel’s fiction properties. Thus, Meri Ashiqui marked at 2,867 TVTs, up from 2,655 TVTs, Balika Vadhu gathered 4,379 TVTs, down from 4,473 TVTs and Rangrasiya noted 2,299 TVTs, up from 2,124 TVTs. Talking about the channel’s non-fiction properties, Comedy Nights with Kapil turns out to be a winner as it saw a slight rise in the viewership and scored 5,942 TVTs, up from 5,853 TVTs while Jhalak Dikhlaja witnessed a drop and noted 3,698 TVTs, down from 4,135 TVTs.

Despite a fall, Star Plus continues to be the chart leader as it scored 659,904 GVTs, down from 660,737 GVTs. Diya Aur Baati Hum continued to be the audience’s favourite show with 9,178 TVTs, up from 8,953 TVTs. The channel’s mythological series Mahabharat also observed a huge hike in the viewership as it scored 6,686 TVTs, up from 6,367 TVTs and Ye Hai Mohababtein garnered 6,007 TVTs, up from 5,712 TVTs.

Zee TV continues to hold on to its number two ranking with 423,066 GVTs, up from 400,337 GVTs. The channel’s chart topper Jodha Akbar seems to lose its eyeballs as it scored 7,254 TVTs, down from 7,664 TVTs. Meanwhile, Kumkum Bhagya scored 5,436 TVTs, up from 4,942 TVTs and Qubool Hai stood at 4,804 TVTs, up from 4,402 TVTs.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) at number five recorded 348,733 GVTs, up from 297,528 GVTs. Maharana Veer Pratap witnessed a gain and scored 3,700 TVTs, up from 3,341 TVTs and Ek Nai Pehchan registered 1,408 TVTs, up from 1,336 TVTs.

Sab at number six garnered 279,874 GVTs, up from 279,412 GVTs. The channel’s chart topper Tarak Mehta scored 6,895 TVTs, down from 7,034 TVTs. Its latest offering Badi Door se Aaye Hai noted 2,634 TVTs, down from 2,659 TVTs.

Anupam Kher is scared of Alzheimer!!

Actor Anupam Kher is all set to shine again on small screen with 12-episode series of 'The Anupam Kher Show - Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. The show is slated to air on Colors from July 6,2014. During the press meet, the veteran actor said he has a fear of losing memory.

When we asked him, what do you fear the most? The veteran actor affirmed, "Yaad daast ke chale jaane ka ka darr hai. I'm scared of Alzheimer."

And what is the reason behind this fear? To which this talented actor said, "My film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara talks about Alzheimer's disease. While shooting for the film, I did research on this disease. After that, whenever I forgot something, mujhe lagta hai kitaab mein likha tha it's a symptom of Alzheimer."

He further added, "I think losing your memory is the biggest tragedy, that's why I am afraid."

Qubool Hai to end in August?

A certain section of media recently reported that, most of the cast and crew members of 4 Lions Films' show Qubool Hai have not been paid for the last few months. Now we heard, this Zee TV's show is all set to end in next month.

"Yes, Qubool Hai will end in August, and we have not yet communicated this to cast," said our reliable source from the production house.

Kritika Kamra to replace Amrita Rao in Shashi Sumeet Mittal's next on Star Plus?

We reported earlier that Bollywood actress Amrita Rao has given look test for Shashi Sumeet Mittal's next for Star Plus.

However, the 'Vivah' fame actress with girl-next-door image, failed to impress the channel officials. They felt that she doesn’t fit the bill and looks a bit older to play a young college going Mathura girl.

Now the question is, who will replace Amrita? We heard, "The channel is planning to approach Kritika Kamra, who is recently evicted from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa."

Amrita Rao to debut on television with Shashi Sumeet Mittal's next on Star Plus?

Despite repeated attempts, Amrita remained unavailable for comment.

Sushmita Sen likely to pair opposite Manish Paul

Manish Paul, recently replaced Drashti Dhami as a host in Colors' dance reality show. Ever since he was called back to host Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, he has been talking about his next film. However, he is not keen to divulge any details about his upcoming film. Well...we heard he will be paired opposite ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.

According to our sources, “Manish & Sushmita are finalized to play protogonist in the rom-com. The makers are planning to make an official announcement soon.”

Sen has been missing from silver screen for the past few years. Her last film was 'No Problem' which was released in 2010.  The talented diva is all set to make debut in Bengali cinema with Nirbhaak.
